I'm not sure if these are called riddles, but this is an example. (it's pretty old)

If a rooster lays an egg ontop ofa roof that meets at an end eg. /\ , which side would it roll off to?

Answer: Roosters can't lay eggs. (I think that's how it goes)

If you know any good ones, post them!

Two cannibals were chatting as they had their dinner. One complained that he really quite disliked his new mother-in-law. What was the advice given to him by his companion?

If you have 27 stones and all of them look exactly the same but one weighs slightly less than the others and all you have is a balance, what is the fewest amount of weighings it takes to find that stone, and what is the process?

I'll give the answer in a little bit. ;)

6 i think, you place half of the stones on each removing the half that does not include the lighter stone (you can find this out with simple algebra).

Yet no one will ever be able to accuse him of murder. Why?

Nope. It's 3.

What you do is divide the 27 into 3 groups of 9. You place one group on one side of the balance and another group on the opposite end. If the balance moves one way, you take the group that weighed less. If the balance was level, you know that the group that was not used has the stone.

Now you take whichever group that had the stone and divide it into 3 groups of 3 and place 2 of the groups on balance like before. If the balance goes one way, you know which group on the balance has the stone, and if it stays you know the unused group has it. Now you have 3 choices.

For your third and final use of the balance, you place one stone on one side and another on the other. If the balance tilts, you have your stone on the elevated side, and if it stays balanced, the unused stone is the lighter stone.
