Scene people don't kill themselves. One's clothing style and music tastes has absolutely NOTHING to do with their personality. It doesn't mean they kill themselves or are even depressed. Stop judging people.

How you dress and what kind of music you listen to tells alot about one's personality.

Anyways. It's funny how words evolve and new meanings come to the surface. This type of behavior is not new. The only thing new about it is the people going around labeling it emo.

In my life I haven't seen a 13 yo commiting suicide for such a stupid reason. This is news mainly because it is a 13 yo doing it, and then because it envolves all that "emo" style which is adopted by young children and, correct me if I'm wrong, but parents ought to be worried and concerned.

This is why this topic is so "hot". It happened before but I think this is more serious, firstly because you can expect any fans of emo music commiting suicide, as some may think and secondly because this was such a stupid way to waste a young life.

What's ironic is that she'll be forgotten like all the other people who've done this. There's so many other people in the world who are worse off and are struggling to live. I feel sorry for her parents. But that's about it.

Oh and about the term "emo". I hate how people say "Oh, how can a music genre kill themselves?". That is the daftest thing I've heard in ages.

If you follow a trend, you will be labelled.

For example, do people stick up for "punks", "metalheads", "grungers" etc. over their label? No. Its just about giving followers of a trend or fashion an easily recognisable name. IMO, I think its immature to label yourself or attempt to fit in, to comply with the ideas of others. You should make your own choices in life.

People will believe anything they want to believe. They lose all self esteem and just can't take it because they may have no one to talk to and other reasons.

I was talking about this to a friend before. He made the point that when Sophie Lancaster was kicked to death for being a goth, there was tons of sympathy for her, but this emo girl has little sympathy.

I think that this has very little to do with the fact that she was emo and more that she did it to herself over something so incredibly trivial most people would just brush it off. By and large I find people have little sympathy for those who inflict pain upon themselves when the vast majority of people try so hard to avoid it, as well as those who have it inflicted upon them unvoluntarily.
