Well the British empire used to rule most of the world a few century's ago.

We owned Canada,Australia,India, hongkong,Caribbean, many parts of Africa...i could go on and on and on.There will never be an empire as big as the British.

Great Britain was the greatest empire of all time, not just because I am British, but because there are reasons:

1. We owned more if not as much of the World as Rome and still managed to keep it in order.
2. Our navy was nere unbeatable
3. We are the reason places like Australia and America are inhabited by the people they are today.

Greece wasn't a democracy like the US is a democracy. Do you know exactly what % of the population could actually vote? Estimates put it around 10%.

I can accept that, though the democratic principle was probably invented by the first guy who asked a girl, "so, my place or yours?"

Despite the fact that I'd like to say the UK is a superpower, we aren't and never were, we were a great power, not a superpower, there's a difference. You were correct in saying that we've maintained some of our world status though.

It's not the US...I'm sorry, but The States is not the best by a long way. Woop, big Army, big economy, but then you also have a big population. One leads to the other. 'Why isn't China as good as the States then?' It has too many people. The United States is the bowl of porridge that was just right. But having the best Army/economy/land mass does not make you the best country/empire.

National debt is HUGE, there are millions of poor people, your health system is a joke and you're all dying of larditis. Not to mention you're egotisitical, self indulgant and feel invincible.

That's not to say I don't like you all though. For the most part. I genuinely want to meet you someday, because you are nice people, but ruin it by being all high and mighty.

Britain isn't the best as we're all going to **** as well. Our government doesn't know how to run a country and is so far up The States' arse that it's hard to see where we end and you begin.

As for the best? I'd say Switzerland. Or the Netherlands. They have got it good.

Feudal Japan....but only if you were a samurai.

Then I'd have to say California. No, its not a nation, but its just so damn nice. I wish anyone who hates America could just spend a month in Northern California.

I can't believe people are actualy saying USA:roll:

What do American kids get taught at school? First history lesson - planet earth rotates around North America - Americans are a special race of humans - American guns never run out of ammo - American action heros never die, even though they get shot 600 times.

If you look at the history of planet earth - the USA is not even worth two milli-seconds.

The greatest nation on earth was either the British Empire and its commonwealth or the Roman empire.

Do they teach the rest of the world to be insecure? Why do you care if some people say the US? Some people say Rome, England, Mongolia, etc. Each choice has valid points.
