I won the arguement and you diverted the debate, period. When I called you on that, you became an aggressive jerk.jointed
Allow me to rephrase our history. With all of the following arguments you ignored and never responded to.
[QUOTE="jointed"]Yeah, but China could easily rearrange their industrial priorities....CaptHawkeye
With what? Their barely fed, disgruntled citizenry? I'd like to see how that turns out.
And if they really wanted to hurt the US....they would take back the trillions of dollars borrowed by the yanks....
Just like the yanks could cut off all of their support. Trade embargos happen all the time in war. Your acting like nations aren't used to suddenly cutting off trade with one another during times of war.
And a war between only China and the US is impossible because of the great distance between the nations....
Yes, i'm sure the distancewill pose a vast challenge to a Navy capable of being literally anywhere in the world in less than 2 days.
I responded to your points. And what did you do? You attacked me with the same arguments again. Even after I disproved your claims.
Lol first of all, you've got a completely distorted picture of China....not their military though China imports almost nothing at all from foreign nations so embargoes wouldnt be a problem for them at all....They're the worlds no.1 exporter though.
And the US earns China a HUGE amount of money (The debt has added up over time) and if China was to take it back, the US economy would suffer drasticly. This is why most people (including experts) are worried....
The other problem with China is that all they do is saving their money.....they have a massive surplus and no one knows what they'll use it on.
EDIT: It's not as if a carrier has unlimited fuel and food....this is were nations like Japan comes into play
jointed
Then, after I ate these claims like Unicron through a planet, you went onto another economic mantra, this time, making totally erroneous claims and strawmanning what I said!
ok, first of all, take a deeeeep breath...This is only a OT debate...chill
and I don't understand why you have to call me names....
World economies existed before China, they used their Colonies to produce the vast majority of their goods.
Since so many foreign businessessalready has outsourced toChina, what do you thinkwill happend to them when China denies them access to Chinese labour and redirects its citizens to create weapons? This has no effect on the food supply since the stuff the workers made before was toys and clothes to western nations. Oh and it's only a matter of time before the weapon embargo on China will be lifted.....
THIS. WAS. UNTRUE.
No, they didn't. Colonies were used to supply natural resources. The industrial home countries supplied their colonies with goods.
Then you responded with a complete strawman.
So you're saying that all the British Empire got its food from the British isles? Or the France empire got it from France? pfff, don't make me laugh.
YOU diverted the debate. Right after this post I was STILL talking about China. Your next post asked what natural resources had to do with the debate. Because you know, it doesn't matter at all that you use correct terminology!
And the post after that didn't even have anything to do with China.
never even used the word "natural resources" since that wasn't what I was talking about...I was talking about food (Which indeed is a natural resource, but it doesn't matter).
Why does this not speak well for my understanding of history and politics? Even if I misunderstood you (which I didn't), it says nothing about how much I know about politics and history.
And from then on you went into a tirade of trying to assasinate my character as a cheap means of sneaking around the fact that you lost.
YOU changed the subject.
You're not only insulting me, but other users too. I suggest, for the good of your reputation, that you let this thread die.
Oh man, my internet reputation could suffer! Uh oh!
