Do you think I wasn't using fact? So I get annoyed when someone continuously tries to lie his way out of an argument. My patience could only last for so many years.

I think I remember when we started the Style over Substance ideals back when IlluminatedMind was posting. The differance was that IM's "evidence" sucked, his theories were BS, and he couldn't admit when he wrong about the smallest things.

CaptHawkeye

I don't believe I made a statement about either/neither of you using facts. I said that is what I argue. When all is said and done the two of you were trading insults.

Of course, you praised the other guy a couple days ago...master of debate was the term you used. He posted opinions and insults.:|

That still gives you absolutely no right to be a **** towards your opponents. It doesn't matter whether or not your opponent was spouting deliberate fallacies or not, calling him, or anyone you debate with for that matter, names or personally attacking someone because they may be wrong, is wrong, and against the ToU. I believe you wrote a blog about being "wrongfully" suspended. Perhaps you should rethink those words, because from my point of view, and from theactions you have taken on this thread, you deserved it.

Oh ok. So it's perfectly fine to let someone get away with his consistent lieing and slander. Right? Again, i've confronted people on this very website who think B-52 crashed into the Empire State Building in 1945, and then denied it when obvious evidence was thrown in front of their face disproving them! How can you possibly avoid callingsomeone an idiot for that?

Hell yes it will. You can expect 30s era Depression standards in the first world. The second and third world are going to be completely wiped off the map. To put it simply, any place in the world that isn't the US, Canada, the European Union, and Japan is going to look like Darfur.

Sounds exciting! *giggles*

Yes, but his arguments showed clear effort.I don't give my respects to people based on whether or not they are right. I give it to them based on effort. Insults are irrelevant, hell, some of the more creative insults are hi-goddamn-larious.

But honestly, what happens in a thread stays in a thread to me. Has my opinion on jointed changed after this? No. I could just as easily turn around and agree with him fully on another issue in another thread.Your views are yourviews and mine are my own.The only person i've ever carried a continuous hatred against is IM. And that's only because he was such an obessive freak you couldn't help but constantly be reminded of his apparent insanity.

That is where we differ.....being wrong and stubborn about it shows a lack of effort to me. If someone states something you are unsure of...check it out...this is the internet., very easy to do. Don't keep posting an opinion as fact. I actually thought he did worse debating than the guy he was debating against...because the other guy had some logic on his side.

As for jointed....I've clashed with him more times than I can remember. He tends to post against the US though he says he likes "yanks"...he isn't going to ever change his "facts"...even with overwhelming evidence mounting against him. He tries to play word games to wiggle out....still...he does pass the time when OT is slow.

That's why I rescinded the title at the end. Like I said, I have respect for effort, but not fanatacism.

And frankly Basic, I would consider it a problem if we DID agree on everything.

You like that? Makes you feel better about your little country?

Last time I checked Canada has the second largest land mass in the world. Maybe your attitude is why people are so anti-American.

Don't be silly. I was talking about population. Canada only has around 32 million people, while the USA has over 300 million people.

So? I'd rather live in a country with a small population and a large area than a country with a large population and a small area.

Stop being such an elitist (the same stereotype that's being used to slander your country).

Telling the truth is elitist? Well, you're just assuming the wost of me. I guess that people like you like to assume the worst.

It's not telling the truth, it's the way you try to sneak in a derrogatory comment. Like, you said "people like you".

I love my country (America) it is all i have ever known. However, I think a true American, a real American is along the lines of Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine. they questioned the authority and it was vital that they did that.

Communism will always fail. People can become too corrupt.

I'd rather be a poor, free man than be rich and sell my soul to the state.

MayorJohnny

No problem at all. If someone for some reason would plan to take over society (hey, I am free, let's - uh - destroy our freedom and install a dictatorship!!) he is most likely not going to get many supporters - although he could probably use some friends or a girl or something. And without money (yes, communism in its final stage means no money) there's no way he can buy loyalty. And he cannot buy it with goods either, because goods do not exist. What exists is products, produced by people because they need them. Since the means of production are commonly owned anyone can use them. No trade value can exist.

Of course, one could ask what the point would be of doing something like that in the first place, or how to even come up with the idea. It is actually safe to assume that people are going to act and behave differently in such a society, like people have acted and behaved differently in different situations throughout history and do today depending on their living conditions. Although there will always be some complete nutcases, I guess.

Communism in itself is no problem at all. The road there is the problem.

Yeah, and what do the private businesses want to do? Profit. How do they profit? By paying the labourers less, than what the product they make is worth. This results in exploitation. True capitalism is ALL about finding cheap labour.

Donkey_Puncher

No.

True Captialism is about private business. Exploitation always ends up with the work force revolting and a potential collapse of the market. Just look at the industrial revolution and the creation of Unions and labor laws.

It isn't advantageous to exploit workers in the long run considering they ARE your work force. Plus you're forgetting labor laws in general.

Workers are always exploited in capitalism; it doesn't matter if they get a larger share of what they produce - which they will have to fight for anyway (you admitted it yourself). Capitalism is about paying as low wages as possible to workers.

If capitalism isnt about exploitation (lol) what is it then about? Do you even KNOW what the ideology of Capitalism is?

Donkey_Puncher

It's a free market dominated by private business'. That's what the ideology is.

It's not an ideology, it's an economical system.
