I now declare that the night of March 21st will be remembered for all time as "La Noche Triste". fidosimI second the motion... even though it's not over yet....
The bill is passed! I hope Limbaugh keeps on his word. Maniacc1
What was his word?
and about the bill passing, enjoy the 4 years of taxes before the anything in the bill actually starts!
"Most massively pro-abortion legislation that has come before Congress since Roe v. Wade."
NEWS FLASH: Congress passed Roe v. Wade... apparently.

 I didn't actually catch that, but that's hilarious
Great now I will be forced to get health care, man gonna have to cancell netflix and my gym membership so I can never go to the doctor :(
Crimtmp
See, this is the good thing about health care finally passing: people will finally see conclusive evidence that the health care reforms is not going to crush them financially. :P

He said he'd move to Costa Rica if any kind of health care reform was passed.was this supposed to be their backup or something? Stupak has been arguing this for weeks and it didn't work. What do they think is going to happen tonight?
The republicans are going to take back congress because the Dems now have 2 choices
1: They can allow the cuts in medicare to take place this fall
2: They can delay it past election day
If they take option #1, what will happen is that medicare payments to doctors will be cut by 21%. This will mean that a whole lot of doctors, hospitals, and hospices will no longer take medicare patients. This is why so many doctors refuse medicaid patients.
This means 2 things; Seniors, the most powerful demographic, are going to overwhelmingly vote against Democrats this november because this threatens the relationship between seniors and their doctors, and 2: The Democrats will lose one of their most successful rhetorical points used in elections. Democratic candidates routinely criticize republican candidates because the Republican candidate will, allegedly, cut medicare benefits to Seniors. This has never happened before, but Democrats every election season use it to great effect. This point no longer applies. The Democrats REALLY DID cut medicare benefits to seniors. So this will turn seniors overwhelmingly against democrats, which will kill democrats in elections for years to come
Or they could take option #2, which is to post-pone the medicare cuts past election day. This however will have disastrous consequences for Democrats because it will mean that the Democrats will have added tens or hundreds of billions of dollars to the Deficit. One of their biggest selling points, that this would bring fiscal responsibility to our government, will be exposed as a fraud and the Democrats will be seen, rightly, as tax-and-spend or borrow-and-spend liberals, and this will kill their image as it has thus far since Obama's election.
So the Dems are dead this November. Come 2013, this act will be repealed.
Whoa, Stupak attack.supercubedude64
^Listening to Stupak's speech right now is greatly improving my opinion of him. :D
why are these clowns making such a deal about abortion... maybe that is why they lost. far too much focus on 1 little issue.comp_atkinsUhh, because it's not a "little" issue.
I agree the Democrats are toast next election. I guess you can't always do what's popular in order to do what is right. The republicans are going to take back congress because the Dems now have 2 choices

I'm not sure what to think. There are some items in the bill that I like, and some I don't. It's quite a nebulous thing right now. I don't know everything that it entails. Supposedly it will save money in the long term, but I don't know how you can cut 500 billion dollars from medicare and not expect to decrease services.

Generally when peoples taxes go up and they're forced to buy something they're against, they won't be happy. I'm guessing this man has an income of 250,000 dollars or more.Caller: "(This bill) contradicts our living in a free society. .... This is totally against social equality and life in general."

In my eyes, nothing will beat the comment from earlier tonight declaring that "we have the most pro-abortion President ever in American history." :lol:Caller: "(This bill) contradicts our living in a free society. .... This is totally against social equality and life in general."
