The passage of this bill will make him very popular for a while, and with no major Republican contender at the moment worth mentioning, I think you're in for a bit of a disappointment come 2012.princeofshapeir

If Newt could get the Republican nomination, he could mount an impressive campaign against Obama. The problem comes with getting the nomination. He cheated on his wife and the religious parts of the party hate him. If he could get the nomination, then I am sure that he could draw a lot of Democratic voters. The problem is in getting the nomination.

Unless the government sets price caps too, this is going to hurt everyone, but will help a few who might not have been able to be approved for insurance before, assuming they can afford the high premium it will cost for preexisting conditions. That's not really what I think about it, that's just the truth of it.

What I think is that it's too early to know how this will affect the actual care we get. More people will have access to preventative care, but who knows if there will now be enough preventative care to go around? I do think it's way better than that weird government insurance dealio they were discussing last year though.
