Obama is a terrible president, and I hope that he only serves one term.

princeofshapeir

As do I. I can't wait for November.

The passage of this bill will make him very popular for a while, and with no major Republican contender at the moment worth mentioning, I think you're in for a bit of a disappointment come 2012.

The bill itself was not by any means popular. This November is likely going to hit the Democrats fairly hard. Unless Obama starts to regain support from the majority of the American people, (and this bill has given the pundits enough propaganda to maintain his declining popularity...) he won't stand a chance in 2012.

If Newt could get the Republican nomination, he could mount an impressive campaign against Obama. The problem comes with getting the nomination. He cheated on his wife and the religious parts of the party hate him. If he could get the nomination, then I am sure that he could draw a lot of Democratic voters. The problem is in getting the nomination.

Oh god. Gingrich is an absolute blow-hard that proved his superior idiocy during the Clinton years. I'm sure that a large majority of Americans today already hate him.

A majority of Americans still support it, and what it represents is his ability to lead. And the lasting effects of this bill will help the country, and when those results are made clear, he will experience a large increase in his public support.

Your right. Unemployment is still ridiculously high (he said it wouldnt go above 8% lol) He has spent TRILLIONS and just spent another trillion dollars of which WE DON'T HAVE!

This is evident in most economic recessions that recessions are over and in turn, unemployment will steadily go down. This was evident in most recessions, including one recession in the Reagan administration. But we'll see what happens next. Reagan decreased corporate regulations, thus allowing a more prosporous America. Obama isn't so keen on doing the same though.

Most poll say otherwise. The results of this bill will raise premiums across the board for those who don't have pre-existing conditions. I would be quite surprised if this bill did much other than bragging rights during speeches.

The man who crafted the "Contract with America" and led the Republican party to Congressional victory in 1994, leading to the first Republican Congress in decades, proved his "superior idiocy"? Oh, come one, those are some tinted glasses you have there. The man is a moderate Republican that appeals to a lot of Southern, Midwestern, and Western Democrats. He has a lot of wit and is a challenging debator.

If he just wouldn't screw around on his wife...

[QUOTE="Atheists_Pwn"][QUOTE="Snipes_2"] How's being forced to buy Insurance and raised taxes Freedom?coolbeans90

healthcare is a right

No, it is not.

I don't think it is a "Right" either. HAving others pay for you to live? That's great for you, but what about everyone paying for your care etc..

[QUOTE="Snipes_2"] Yeah, Same here. I think there are maybe 10 or less on here that I've seen.

It's times like these I'm glad I have this picture:

Conservatives need to stop with the persecution complex. You're not nearly as rare or outnumbered as you think.

I think 100+ Moderates and Liberals outnumber the 56 Conservatives. That was also posted in 2009.

Look:

- It was posted on DECEMBER 21ST, 2009. That was only three months ago. Besides, conservatives on GS have been whining about how they're sooooo outnumbered by liberals since these forums started.

- Moderate =/= liberal

- The numbers of conservatives and liberals are almost the same and you'd likely find with an even larger sample size that moderates, liberals, and conservatives all make up 33% of the political demographic on GS. Thus, everyone is outnumbered by everyone else. The 100+ conservatives and moderates outnumber the 59 liberals, the 100+ conservatives and liberals outnumber the 49 moderates, etc.

This bill does not cover dental care :/

Seriously, am I the only one here that has actually tried to read the bill?
