How come killing animals is more ok than humans?

Because human is worth inifnitely more to society than animal. And it's for the sake of society that we set up law. Another example: we can own animal, while slavery is forbidden in most of the world.

No I do not feel remorse for killing insects. That is because they are not human. That doesn't mean humans are more valuable than other animals, that'sjust my bias as a human kicking in.

Nope, we ignore their uselessness for the sake of all. Law is to protect the society and killing less usefull members of it could end up biting the majority in the ass.

But the general principle still holds. Mentally challenged people generally do not have all the rights healthy people do.
