Alcohol is MUCH worse then marijuana. People die from alcohol related illness everyday. You never hear of anybody dieing from being a pot head.

The issue here is... the government is not getting tax money from marijuana. But it is still bad for you, like if you get on it, you basically remove a part of your brain. It simulates.... fvck, I already forgot this information from college. Just take my word for it, after you take it, you become dependent, because your body stops produce naturally occuring things that have something related to axons. Case in point, it makes you brain dead little by little. Alcohol though is fine as long as you do not abuse it. Which for some reason their is a culture that loves to do this.

edit: Very hypocrytical to not go after cigarette smoking, at least alcohol has the benefit of easy your body, cigarettes pollute your body.

Cigarettes are definitely more dangerous than weed, let alone the addictiveness. Weed can even have many benefits regardless of what some people may think. With cigarettes there are no benefits at all, only consequences and what you hear about the death toll is also true.

Safer than an aspirin.

On a side note: smoking 1 cigarette is healthier than eating 1 hamburger at McDonald's. :P

Cigarettes are definitely more dangerous than weed, let alone the addictiveness. Weed can even have many benefits regardless of what some people may think. (I'm assuming you're talking about assisting cancer patients).

With cigarettes there are no benefits at all, only consequences and what you hear about the death toll is also true.

With _________ there are no benefits at all, only consequences.

The blank can be filled in with:

- Fatty foods

- Candy/cakes/soda

- Coming home from the city late at night after clubbing

- any number of other thingsAussieePet

What why?

Because comparing them is a bit silly. Tons of people die from two of those things, and the other helps/relieves people who have medical problems. Also, there have been countless threads on this same topic.

It isn't dangerous. I guess if you were a chronic smoker, you could develop some lung disease, but weed doesn't necessarily have to be smoked. It can be ingested with food. It can be vaporized. Probably injected, too. As far as I'm aware, the biggest danger that comes from weed is that it makes you awfully hungry. I could see myself gaining a few pounds if I got high every day.

Safer then alcohol, but against cigarettes its effect on the body and lungs is debatable (some people say its better, some say its worse, and both have "proof" to back up what they say). Truthfully, its pretty harmless as far as drugs go.

I was guessing. I've never injected. I heard some people have experimented with it, though. By the way, I don't go around weed. I may have in the past, but I won't ever pick weed back up until it's either decriminalized or legalized. I don't want to risk it.

I don't feel it's dangerous what so ever.

I smoke weed everyday and I'm a B+ to A student in college. I have hundreds of friends, a girlfriend of 3 years, a job, attend school, finish all of my assignments on time, ace tests, and still have time to smoke two or three times a day. The only adverse effect it has is that I can't remember anything short term for an hour or so after the high wears off.

I actually find anti-pot people amazingly stupid. My one group of good friends are heavy pot users as well, and we are all doing amazing in our courses. We are the exact opposite of the stereotype, as we are all high functioning users who don't appear as huge stoners, yet each and every one of us smokes every single day.

Well, marijuana isn't deadly...Maybe if you're deathly allergic or something, but that's never been known to happen.

It causes cancer.

Or not. Smoking over a long period of time (chronically, I might add) may contribute to the possibility of the development of cancer... or not. Either way, your statement wasn't specific at all. You didn't say "smoking," you just said marijuana causes cancer, which wouldn't be true.

It's addictive only if you want it to be. For example, you can choose to use your computer every day, and you can easily choose to not use it. It's "addictive" in almost the same sense: a mental one. I and several friends of mine, have put weed behind us indefinitely. Anyone can do it with ease. There are no physical withdrawal symptoms. Your body isn't forcing you to do the drug so you can feel right. It's your choice.
