Is that still considered cool? Most people here in the UK don't act like that anymore....

Style, culture, trends, fashion, rebellion. Is it cooler to wear kaki shorts, a Halo t-shirt and Birkenstocks?

Sheesh, you sound like an old man berating Elvis for "his long hair and dem fancy leg moves that get all the girls in a tissy."

I don't know if I should laugh or be offended by that. I know you're talkng about Black people saying we sound ignorant blah, blah, blah but if thats how someone chooses to talk or dress then no offense or anything but its really none of your business. Those words like yo and homie are slang, a way of communication like how someone might use dude. And if u don't like the way certain people talk then just ignore it.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to black people. I know a few black people are they're perfectly nice, decent people.
He's talking about the people who think it's cool to act like a 'gansta'. That could be anybody from any nationality.

So what? Classic Rock songs actually had some meaning, not people bragging about money, drugs, and violence.

Now you're generalizing. Not all classic rock songs had wonderful meanings: just as not all songs of other genres are about money, drugs, and violence.:|

Nah, he wasn't referring specifically to black people, but you assumed he did. Let's not blame him for stereotyping when you're the only one that did it.

Dressing like that is cool here in Chicago. It makes people look stupid and shabby.

They think it makes you look dangerous, but I don't think having baggy pants and a shirt the size of the Statue of Liberty makes you look any "dangerous", it makes you look like a clown IMO (this isn't just black people, but whites also dig in into the "Gangsta" life-style)

What you are referring to is just a fad and just like the fads before, this one will come and go and another will take it's place. I don't see why it bothers you, no one is making you speak or dress this way so just ignore it.

Do you like onions? If so, have you ever met anyone who doesn't like onions? There's your answer. Do you hate the color pink? Ever met someone who likes the color pink? There's your answer.

How is acting gangsta considered cool when you yourself do not find it cool? Because not everyone is like you.

A fad is a fad. Just because it's one that appeals to you does not make it more acceptable. Either accept that other people have a right to wear what they want....or don't follow fads yourself.

How is acting gangsta considered cool when you yourself do not find it cool? Because not everyone is like you.

jimmygrace

Trying to act gangsta is plain ignorant. How about people stop wearing rags and wear clothes that fit? And if you got something to say speak complete sentences, not yo my diggity dog I got ice on my teeth and I got rims that ride fast N-word homedawg skillet G man.Thats how pathetic its gotten.

Why limit your rant to just one culture? All fads are silly. That includes the wearing of classic rock band t-shirts.

I've expressed my dislike for emos and gothics aswell.I think people need to act like people and not freaks. And whats wrong with a classic rock t-shirt if it fits?

So you are saying that people should all dress the same and act the same? People are going to act, dress and basically do whatever they want to try and be different, granted some people do it because they want to be part of the crowd but others do it to be different. Why does this bother you so much? Does anyone try to push this style on you and make you act like them? If you don't like certain fads then ignore it, you're not going to change the world with this thread so just let it go.

[QUOTE="Godly_Cure"]It's not considered cool, but it's a style. Like some people who only worship classic rock. That gets old also.jimmygrace

So what? Classic Rock songs actually had some meaning, not people bragging about money, drugs, and violence.

That's a huge generalization... it depends on the band playing whether they have anything worthy to say. You know what GNR talked about? Sex, money, drugs, women and violence, so you might want to consider the double standard you're advocating here

Uh huh, "November Rain", "Patience", "Sweet Child o' Mine", "Don't Cry", "Estranged", "Renegade", "Paradise City", and so many others all were about drugs and violence.Gimme a break.

And I guess all rappers talk about sex drugs and violence in a "positive" light as well, huh?
