Just a guess, but I think theissue hereis that he doesn't realize what he considers to be normal behavior is just one stop in an endless web of shifting culture, trends, values, fads, etc.

He's confused the idea of "normal" with "normalization." He thinks his culture is the baseline, when in fact his beliefs, values and behaviors are just part of an endless sea of worldviews and perspectives.

Just a guess of course, but his "people should act like people" statement was very revealing, terribly close minded, and still very sad.

I've expressed my dislike for emos and gothics aswell.I think people need to act like people and not freaks.And whats wrong with a classic rock t-shirt if it fits?

rap itself doesn't piss me off,though the repetitive subjects in rap, like "hoes" and "cappin's some n***a's ass" infuriates and irritates me. and to call their fashion "ghetto" is kinda funny cause today's "ghetto" outfit cost about as much as a 2 HD tv's. I'm glad i didn't fall deeper into that fad during middle school. I tried to dress like them so i could be cool like them yet they still treated me like #2 so i finally realized that having my pants hang off my ass, wearing a shirt that could be used as a parachute,and trying to keep my shoes completely clean was notme. now i wear clothes that makes me feel cool ABOUT MYSELF. and though i thikn their fashion is silly, emo and grunge fashion isnt cool to a lot of people too.I'm all for not having completely baggy pants but they shouldnt have to be skin tight. christ, it scares me how emo people can even put on their own pants!

as for acting 'gangsta', if you do, i know that if you were thrust into a REAL gangsta life, you'd s**t your pants. quit it. don't act like your hot s**t cause the world knows you're not so stop trying to convince everyone you are.
