Or the statistic could be the percent of Americans who are openly gay ;however, that number still seems pretty low.

I don't want the master chief to be gayalexside1
Why not? You're telling me a gay man isn't capable of kicking ass? Agent Smecker ftw baby.
And I'll drop out here Where would you get these statistics from? There are not enough Gay Gamers to warrant a franchise where the protagonist is Gay How is this even arguable? The argument isn't about the numbers. Having a relatable protagonist isn't always the main objective (See God of War and Professor Layton). There really isn't a reason for it, but if a developer wanted to make a gay protagonist he has the ability to do so.[QUOTE="xaos"][QUOTE="Snipes_2"]

Cause I don't see him or want him **** around the guys nor the girls. He's more a freeman type that you view yourself as him when playing the game. He's more of an asexual type of guy.i think master chief is a pretty cool guy. eh likes men and doesn't afraid of anything. (except women?)

Considering the most recent US census didn't ask about sexuality making it very hard to judge what percentage of the US is gay I'm going to go ahead and assume they pulled these figures from their asses.[QUOTE="Snipes_2"]Where would you get these statistics from? what exactly are you even arguing? I'm not gay and I would love to see a gay protagonist in a video game.
Game companies should not start making Gay Protagonists. The Protoganists are Heterosexual because that is what the majority of Gamers identify with.
Snipes_2
They also shouldn't make them badass. The protagonists shouldn't be badass because the majority of gamers are not badass. How can you relate (or feel connected) to such a character?

"Badass" is subjective. Everyone has a different definition of it, plus, most kids playing these games see the protagonist as someone they would want to be.Please Log In to post.
