Can get another really nice car for 30 grand, or fix up the Mustang a bit, though I'd go with another car (most likely for winter use).Mustang is way cooler. Plus 30 grand is way cooler.

[QUOTE="HCMBusiness_89"]Do fords last 20 years? HAHA /threadfoxhound_foxBMW's do? Did you ever hear about the 8-series? A car that, almost as soon as it hit 100K miles, the engine just failed working and required a complete rebuild.Yes they do... I recently owned a BMW 520i that was bought in 1990. I've also seen 5series models from the 70's, 80's and 90's around in the city. Also seen a 7series from the 70's.

How does that asymmetrical door setup work out? I've also heard the non-turbo versions are lacklustre. The non turbo looks nice, and has some impressive kit for the price, but with a turbo version coming out that has a better looking front end, I wouldn't have one.
Turbo Specs
202 BHP 1.6 liter 4 cyl Turbo Charged GDI engine.
6 speed DCT paddle transmission.
0-60 7.1 seconds.
27/39 mpg.
The Driver door is a normal Coupe door, but the passenger side is two door, with the back doors handle hidden in the window frame, so it still looks like a coupe from the side. Passenger view

then you look like a complete tool for sticking a wide body kit on a V6 challenger that doesn't have any power whatsoever and is heavier than the factory it was built inMy new Baby. When it's released. I'm third on the list at the dealer, Charcoal Grey.[QUOTE="Nuck81"]

If he's in the market for a small car, I doubt he would want the Challenger. Although I would definitely recommend using the extra cash to go with the R/T instread of the SE. That's what I have an I love it.

The SE gets 30 mpg and the V8 RT gets 26...not bad for a 5.7L engine. Although I'm sure the velociter gets more. I just hope they come out with a top of the line model with a more powerful engine. It's a great looking car none the less.

but think of all those BMW owners that will know that you drivea better one than them
the M3 is a stunning car, i havent been in a mustang so i cant compare but id be amazed if it was better, top gear never shut up about the M3/M5. just this sunday they commented that the M5 is easily the best all round car on the road
i was talking to the M3 owner i work withyesterday about the GTR, i really dont like the look of it, he made the comment that it looks like it should cost less but performs like it should cost twice as much...

Today a kid accidently backed a mustang lightly into my English teacher's van. His bumper got caught on the plastic part of the liscence plate, so when he moved forward, his entire bumper came off.
So you know something, it probably is. Piece of crap.

As for the OP, it depends on what you want. The M3 is the better overall car. More usable seating and better quality all around. However, if you're looking to race, with the money you save on the GT you can make it destroy an M3. Even with just some stiffer shocks the Mustang GT will be faster around the track. Do fords last 20 years? HAHA /threadHCMBusiness_89Well I have a 1991 F-150 in my driveway with 374,000 miles on it (of course it's had work done over the years der), that has outlasted all the other vehicles my family has owned. We've owned mostly Nissan, Honda, and Ford primarily. 3 Best vehicles were the F-150, a 1987 Jag xj6 (that went well over 200k miles), and my Dad's '89 accord. It's nice when cars last longer than 200,000 :) That's about 20 years I'd say at least for the truck. I'd want the M3 even though my brother is a Ford fanboy and that's all I hear about, then again I do my own car maintenance so if the Mustang would be easier to work on (assuming it would be) I'd rather have that in the long run.
those specs looks very similar, but take those two to a track "that isnt a straight line" and the bmw will run circles around that mustang.
[QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"]did you see the picture? thats a Mustang GT 5.0, weighs less yet the same numbers for acceleration and quarter mile. for 30 grand less. why waste youre money when you get the same performance whats under the hood isnt everything when it comes to performance... The BMW has a far superior build quality along with a proper suspention that will allow it to go around corners much more efficiently than any mustangI'd much rather have any M3 made in the last 8-9 years than any Mustang, including the GT500. The GT500 has alot more horsepower and torque than the M3, but it's also heavier. The 2010 GT500 can run through the 1/4 mile in about 12.3-12.4 seconds, the M3 can do it in 12.8-12.9. The M3 outhandles it, has a far higher standard of quality in the interior, and lower tolerances throughout the entire car. They're not even comparable. Don't get me wrong- I love the GT500 for it's raw power and great muscular looks.. but it's not in the same league as an M3.

That's not what the track results say...
You are paying for luxury and status with the BMW. The two cars are not similar beyond power in any way.

Yep, some people just enjoy owning nice cars or if they have a significant amount of cash, collecting.

It's not the fact of not spending money on the brand, it's the statement of "I'd NEVER spend money on a Nissan". This implies that he's so closed minded that given the choice between a Ford Fiesta (descent little car) and the Nissan GTR (supercar territory) he would not buy the Nissan even if money were not an issue. THAT would make someone an idiot.
If I had 60k, I'd get the Tesla Model S.
It would probably outlast both the Mustang and the BMW combined. Less moving parts, less maintenance. There is only one moving part: the rotor. Because of this, acceleration is instantaneous. MAX torque at 0RPM.
- 0-60 in 5.6s (4.4s Performance Edition)
- Instantaneous Torque (MAX @ 0RPM)
- 300mi range
- 45 min charge
- Seats 7

While that car is a seriously major BOOM, what do you do on road trips? Wait 45 minutes for every 300 miles? They're going to have to find a way to recharge like mini solar panels or wind driven energy from built in wind turbines that draw in the air from the front that kick in on the highway over a certain speed. Waiting for that long every time you stop kind of sucks.
