Rock is the most diverse genre, because it so general, as someone else said (The Cure Guy)...Just compare any Alt. Country Rock (Silver Jews) versus something more synth driven like Erase Errata.

Rap, R&B, Soul, and Jazz. Those are pretty much the only things that make me take a flying leap at the radio knob to change it.
I really don't listen to broadcast FM radio at all so it's very rare that I'm made to suffer listening to those things.
Internet radio FTW!!!

Not even close my friend. Oh really?What music do you consider simplistic?It's rare that music will cause me to turn it off because I can't actually bear to listen to it. But I am very disinterested in simplistic music in general. That describes a great deal of music written throughout the ages...

I'm asking because you've differentiated between "simplistic" and "simple" in the past.
[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"]Yup :P MasterC5
Whatever those are bands that the typical emo kid lsitens to so **** them.
Wouldn't an emo kid be someone who listens to emo?I'm fairly tolerant of all sorts of music and I have pretty wide interests so it's hard for me to completely write off an entire genre of music. I suppose lite jazz (Rippingtons, Kenny G) is probably my least favorite although that's not to be confused with cool jazz and easy listening singers of classic standards (June Christy, Julie London) which I love quite a bit.

Wouldn't an emo kid be someone who listens to emo? Emo kids don't exist anymore. They all play Jazz now.Wouldn't an emo kid be someone who listens to emo? If they dress emo, and they **** like emos. They must be emo. Sure thing...[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"][QUOTE="MasterC5"]

They're just not. What the heck is emo anyway?But seriously how is dash board not emo?
MasterC5
Edit: Also, there are Screamo and Emo Violence (read: Power Violence) bands that would make your average Metal band from various subgenres sound...a little banal. Sometimes music has something, and a lot of Metal lacks it (though you could argue that they often make up for it in talent.) ;)
