...Indie music is 30 years old dude. According to Tony Wilson, Tony Wilson coined the phrase. Of course, there are a lot of statements that "according to Tony Wilson..." can end with; most of them aren't true, hahaha. There's also a lot of underground Metal that is Indie. Just saying...
I dislike music which doesn't take a large degree of skill to play. That said, I dislike Pop and Rap. Classic Rock and Country I can stand. Metal and Classical are the peaks of music for me.

There is plenty of rap, I'd say nearly the majority that isn't devoted solely to sex, money, or drugs...That's just what gets played the most, in fact true rap was born out political fervor...Rage Against The Machine are simply following a model laid a decade before them.

I enjoy screamo music. My favorite band is screamo. But you are kind of wrong. Screamo has a foundation in emo...
Maybe we listen to different bands. The one's I listen to talk about bad things that are happening and say how to fix them. I'm not saying all screamo isn't emo, I'm just saying that not all of it is emo.

Most "white kid" music. I don't know if that's a genre but emo, screamo, heavy metal, indie all sort of fall into that category of "...oh I'm so hard done by" adolescent cry baby crap that is a bane on contemporary music and young people's lives. I don't mind saying because I'm half white, half green (as you can see from my avatar).

They are not screamo. They are melodic metalcore. I think you listen to more melodic metalcore, not screamo. Screamo bands for example are Escape the Fate, Silverstein, Senses Fail, and etc.

Killswitch Engage aren't Screamo. They're Metalcore, I suppose. Screamo bands? Orchid, Neil Perry, Song of Zarathustra, Saetia, Alcatraz, Angelhair, Portraits of Past, Swing Kids (kind of), Jerome's Dream, The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra, Kodan Armada, Mohinder...et cetera ad nauseum. Edit: Avistann's examples are also wrong. Killswitch Engage come closer to being Screamo than any of them. ;)
