if peaceful islamics and muslims would ya know step up and denounce the terrorism attached to their religion then people wouldnt be paranoid. i dont blame the pilots honestly.kayoticdreamz
I do, I blame the ignorance of those pilots. And islamic and muslim leaders denounce terrorisme all the time, it's just that the likes of Fox News and other dominant media don't show it, hence the ignorance of the american people about the islam. When you treat someone as a terrorist long enough...it will become one...and that's what some powers in America want, to start a holy crusade against the Islam again. Thank god I live in Europe, I wouldn't even bare to stand on the very same ground as those racists.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Who would want to fly with some dirty Muslim onboard?

What if one of those things brushed up against me and I caught the suicide bomber virus?

Or imagine if I had to sit beside one of them, What would stop it from sucking my belief in Jesus right out of my eye sockets and condemning me to perpetuity in hell?

That pilot should get a raise.

I kind of don't blame the pilot. I think it has more to do with fear than anything else.

That's a shame, because if anything, muslims in the US have been one of the most moderate groups. There was a good study by Duke University showing how mosques in the US reduce the risk of terrorism. I wish people wouldn't resort to blindly stereotying this group of people.

It's not because of their religion. It's because of the idiots that give Islam a bad name.

No its because of the media and ignorant people that hang on every word they watch.

its obviously randomly generated based on the moon's position, together with the sign of the Aquarius relation to Venus.

Plain racism. This is going to blow up in the media and alqeda will not be happy.

Bad spin? What I remember in the aftermath of 9-11 was just pictures of the ME celebrating. No spin needed.

Being afraid of Muslims isn't due to racism. It's due to the fact that every time you turn on the news, a Muslim group is claiming responsibility for killing a bunch of people. Seems pretty ****in' rational to me.

The media would never report about the boring Muslims that simply enjoy their daily lives.

They would rather report about the group of Muslims who are out protesting.

Isn't it that way with everything? I mean if I hear a murder happened in x place...they are reporting the news. That does mean I believe everyone in x to be murderers. Though I do find the silence of the leaders problematic. I will not paint all people the same....I do not generalize and stereotype....however, I would like to see some outspoken anger from within the group.

:| Silence? After 9/11 all these leaders publically demonized AQ.. So now they must ACTIVELY public in their hostility towards religious followers in their gorup they disagree with just to keep above suspicion? Thats ridiculous and hypocritical.. Not every church has gone out and publically spoke out against the West Bapitist Church, but that doesn't automatically make it that they are in fact supporters of that group..

When did the pilots say their race was superior? People need to stop using the word 'racism' all over the place when it does not fit the meaning. (not directed at you by the way)

The fact of the matter is this.. News focuses on conflict and what not.. Meanign the only thing the American public hears about is violent Muslims of the community, because the peaceful ones are not news.. This gives people of the false impression that all Muslims are violent extremists.

It may be discrimination, but thats not always a bad thing.

All muslims are not terrorists, but, with a few exceptions, all the terrorists are muslims.

Let me ask you this: If you catch just a piece of a news story that a suicide bomber has just blown themselves up in a public place, killing a bunch of innocents, what is your first thought? That he was a buddhist?

Hooray discrimination!

Let me ask you this: If you catch just a piece of a news story that a suicide bomber has just blown themselves up in a public place, killing a bunch of innocents, what is your first thought? That he was a buddhist? collegeboy64

There's a greater chance of your plane crashing than of it being hijacked by terrorists. If you're that paranoid about terrorism, why are you flying in the first place?

It may be discrimination, but thats not always a bad thing.

All muslims are not terrorists, but, with a few exceptions, all the terrorists are muslims.

I think you're confusing what the word 'terrorist' means.

Terrorism = the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.

Terrorism != Islam.

Better yet why go outside because you may be struck by lightening, or drive a car? Both you have statistically greater chance of getting killed or hit than you ever do by a terrorist.

I feel bad for the innocent Islamic religious people... however, I can completely understand that people would be scared of them on the plane. On a plane, when a choice could be the difference between life and death, people aren't going to be politically correct.

I never said Terrorism=Islam.

We discriminate every day. When it is unwarranted, its bad. When it stems from logic, guided by experience, then maybe its not so bad.

Yet you have a statistically greater chance of getting killed in a car accident on your way to the airport than you ever do by a terrorist on a plane.. Furthermore don't you think the security people went through their protocols to begin with? Quite frankly you shouldn't be flying or going out side for that matter.. People are being completely illogical about this.

That's not the point. Alot of people here are really grasping at anything to support their arguments and it's sad.

That is true in theory. A terrorist could be anybody. However, don't kid yourself... come back to reality. Today, 99% of terrorists that do violence are Islamic.

.. Than we should be frightened of every one around us, common violence is far more likely than any terrorist attack.. The man sitting next to me has a statistically greater chance of murdering me than a Muslim murdering me for religious/extremists reasons.. Might as well not use the bathrooms either.. They are key points of places where sickness spreads.. Afterall we have quite a few people die each year by influenza. Way more in fact than terrorists.
