Maybe he shouldn't be running for president then??? I know its a UNHEARD IDEA after all.. But his lack of computer skills and apparent disinterest in technology can certainly be called into play when we are talking about a position that has in his control the most powerful things in the world..

sSubZerOo

Not typing on a keyboard is not akin to having no knowledge about computers and technology. He uses his Blackberry to communicate with staff and check his email. He regularly reads the Drudge Report and Politico blogs online. He was theChairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee. He was called the US Senate's savviest technologist by Forbes. His national campaign was the first to use the internet.

Yeah I am not argueing if its true or not.. but when I see people playing that he is handicapped and can't use it.. Or that was what the ad was saying.. It sickens me.. No where in that ad did it say he was making note of his disabilities.. Though it can be argued that he does know technology.. But the fact that people want a apology from Obama is rediculous.. Why? because people MISINTERPRETED it? Man what kind of society are we getting to where a person has to apologize because the audiences misinterpetation a mistake done by the audience not the presenter? If anything most commonly the people who do the misinterpreation are the ones that apologize..

It's well-known that McCain doesn't type because it causes him pain. He dictates his responses, just like many bosses in companies dictate responses to their assistants or secretaries to type up. People are saying that Obama's ad is unfair because it attacks a vet for something that is ultimately caused by his handicap. That's what people are talking about.

The sources they cite in the ad actually contradict the claims in the ad. For example, the source they cite for the claim that McCain can't send an email actually says that he checks his email regularly but doesn't send them himself because he doesn't want to (and you wouldn't either if it hurt to do it and you can get someone to type it up for you) You may not be arguing whether it's true or not, but the fact remains that it's blatantly false. That's what Obama should apologise for.

But I hope he doesn't apologise. That way, it will anger vets and older people even more.

They could have made the point without picking on an elderly, disabled war vet for his lack of computer skills. This is gutter politics and rank dishonesty.

mysterylobster

then he wouldn't be attacking his opponent :P

if like if you told McCain not to pick on an intelligent, likable black man. and yes i don't like the tone of that ad. but come now. you've seen McCain ads do the same and distort the truth much more often. looks like obama may be starting to fight fire with fire.

I beg to differ, and I can't see the point of justifying attacks like this by saying "they do it too".

This isn't just distorting the truth. It's outright false. The sources Obama's ad cites contradict the information presented.

Frankly another reason why I don't like Democrats. Now I understand they probably weren't aware that he could not type on a keyboard because of his wartime injuries, but lets face it this is all we have seen this whole year from Democrats even when they were going against eachother for the primary.

All I have seen from democrats is them just trying to make fun of the other party or the competition, thats it. I hear more about how old McCain is, or how he doesn't know this or that about because he is old. I mean I don't care about that, all I care about is someone who knows how to run this country and point it in the right direction, not about some crap about how Palin didn't want her kid to have a kid in Texas or how her teenage kid is having a kid (Which for some reason this is such a hugggge surprise these days, young people having children  ). I mean enough is enough, get to what really matters instead of trying to throw people under the bus. Go after to them because of their policies not because they are old or because the kid is having a baby. It just looks childish and foolish on democrats part. I mean even when it was Hillary and Obama thats all they did is make fun of eachother.

Hey i'm not the one making threads about the political ads. I'm not justifiying it. i'm just saying that both parties do it and the McCain campaign has been much worse about it.

The Sex Ed ad for one. The McCain ad makes it seem that Obama wants teach "comprehensive sex education" to kindergardeners and saying "Learning about sex before learning to read?" like if it was going to be like sex ed classes in later grades.

Obama does not want to teach "comprehensive sex education" to kindergardeners, but teach them about inappropriate touching by strangers and he has long said that he is in favor of Sex Ed for K as long as it is age-appropriate as it is "the right thing to do". Do you think that it is wrong to teach little kids about inappropriate touching? Are you really gunna swallow McCains' BS whole without a second thought?

Here's one

And another

Here's another one

And another

Another one

You know, we both could sit here and do this all day. Obama is certainly guilty of lying and stretching the truth in his ads, but don't try and say McCain isn't at least equally guilty here.
