Doesn't supirse me. Of course everybody thinks that this is just the right wing government cracking down on freedoms. Though you would think the citizens of NYC and these other cities would get sick of some of their parks (and often private property) being ruined and unusable for the duration of these protests.

Look, I'm no fan of OWS, but you serious?[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"][QUOTE="QuistisTrepe_"]
Gas the bastards and move in with the rubber bullets. Their silly little movement should have come to an end weeks ago.

These whiny little ******* are a pestilence. I have to put up with these punks here in Oakland. And what I get are disease-ridden, smelly hippies infesting my neighborhood, committing vandalism of small businesses (I guess they're the evil 1% too), theft, and violent crime (despite what you've been hearing about their allegedly peaceful demonstrations). They're not achieving anything, they're costing us millions for law enforcement sweeping the city, dispersing their encampments and bringing small businesses to a standstill with all the ruckus, interfering with mass transit, while drawing lawless lunatics from all corners of the Bay Area.
I want these people gone by any means necessary. They've had their say, the party is over. This isn't about ideology, it's about returning to civilized society.
Your idea to return to civilized society is to cause great harm to protestors by shooting them with rubber bullets, possibly causing sever injuries, life changing injuries or even death?
Thank God, that took way way too long. They didn't know what they were protesting there are no leader it was just a silly silly mess
Actually they voted in a Dog to lead them in denver..if that counts? So far the Dog is ahead of every other runner in the polls too :PThank God, that took way way too long. They didn't know what they were protesting there are no leader it was just a silly silly mess

You kinda proved my point. They should just have arrested them all two months ago.
if i recall they was all told to leave hours before they was forcefully removed to clean the park. and once the park was cleaned they be allowed back. NOW idk how true this is as i don't follow every news nor there.
Tell you truth they need go DC. congress, white house, ect. wallstreeters is just playing the system. It may not seem right but blame the real people who allows it keep happening, blame the people who has the power to change but don't.

I dont have a problem with them protesting - as long as they do it legally. I just dont like when protesters start destroying property or preventing others from doing their jobs.Thank God, that took way way too long. they are there to demand the same stuff they are doing else where, so i am not sure you want to endorse their actions in DC.The ONLY way you can put "Racist" into the "Who Are They (Tea Party)" is if you put "Rapist/Sexual Predator" in the "Who Are They (OWS)."I decent comparison between OWS and Tea Party.
It's not accurate and has many generalization and estimates

I suspect that there's a sweeping majority of tea party members that have very little concern for minorities and other religions. Half their members grew up in the 60's. Compare that with vast diversity of the OWS' age, gender and race and you can see where the term "racist" could have originated. I wouldn't say the TP'ers are racist but more like they're obnoxiously intolerant due to their life experiences and environment.

You suspect. Exactly. I lol'dThe "Occupy Canada" protest in my town got evicted a few days ago.
I'm not sure the whole situation (I didn't care enough to remember to look into specifics). They left the first site for an annual Remembrance Day ceremony that takes place there, but something happened with them not being allowed on the a second site. I guess they're now looking for a new site.
It doesn't seem like a huge deal though for ours being evicted. To my knowledge they're just protesting minor things, as our economy is pretty good right now. Hell, my city just got a contract for ship building that will bring in a few billion dollars and tons of jobs over the next few years.
Yes, delicious fascism. MMMM It's exactly what we need.

What's fascist about the Police removing protesters that aren't even paying to organize and occupy property that doesn't belong to them?
And that isn't even the reason they're being removed. It's because of the criminal activity that's following these protests.

just because they advocate theft does not make them criminals, oh wait you were talking about the rape, drugs, and violence... my bad :PIt's because of the criminal activity that's following these protests.

indeed. these occupy camps are no longer filled with people actually protesting the economic situation. they are now filled with meth heads, homeless people, rapists, and other criminals.
seriously, these places have just turned into nasty tent cities~

These aren't really well orchestrated protests. They are bringing in all sorts of bad problems and causing problems for the rest of society.
They really should be at DC protesting. Occupying random parks making them unusable for the population is kind of counter productive. Disrupting the lives of others by block roads, parks, and damaging businesses is also not helping.

being homeless is not criminal, and i am glad some homeless are being paid to protest, it is good for them to earn some money.[QUOTE="Blue-Sky"]

Anyone mention yet that there is a court order preventing the police from stopping them from being there with their tents? Thank god someone still gives a damn about constitutional rights.

Yes. I am saying you are wrong. You use the age demographic, then ignore the fact that it was that very age demographic that participated in a lot of the civil rights movement(s).Then, your grand finale was to take a quotation from one of the most extreme bomb-throwers out there.
That would be like me saying, "Well, there have been a LOT of drug busts at the "occupations," and the younger people today use more recreational drugs, so that means that I should put "Junkies" under the "Who Are They (OWS)" category.

It's a constitutional right to trash parks and disobey city ordinances?
Right now they are attacking the cities and the taxpayers of the cities, all who cannot do a damn thing about the financial system. They are costing the city a lot of money and distrupting people for no cause anymore.

No I was trying to explain why racist was one of the generalizations in the infographic. I thought I was pretty spot on why people perceive them as racists. Their demographic being on the major contributing factors.

Exactly, which is why the hipster generalization was implemented on the OWS. It's for the same sweeping generalization of the demographic that creates the "racist" stereotype. That quote from Anno coulter is just an example of insensitivity from the right side. Do I think Ann is racist, nahhh, but I would fully understand if someone perceives her as one.
You're actually agreeing with me, so I'd like to hear what Planet_Pluto's opinion on why people perceive Tea partiers as racist.
It's a constitutional right to set up a tent-city on privately owned land? Giving people the right to protest, but then nowhere to protest is not giving them the right to protest at all. It may be "private land", but it is a public park that is open 24 hours.[QUOTE="EntropyWins"]

So why not just call them socialists like the rest of us do? We don't call them "hipsters", though I would wager that's the only reason they support socialism.
