ANY religion is the most peaceful and spiritual way to live, however they are hardly followed 100% which gives them a bad reputation.

DONT try stating that big bang = no god

big bang could of been created by god just aswell

Where is YOUR proof that God exists and is credible?

All I have seen are stories made by humans. Wouldn't such a supreme divine being publish a work about his life at least once?

Case closed.

This debate is just like building a lighthouse in the middle of a desert. It serves absolutely no point. No one can "prove" that a god does or doesn't exist. Whatever "proof" is provided on either side only serves to fortify each party's own belief. When arguing this subject, the only people they are trying to convince are themselves. :| Bottom line, stop caring what we believe. Just believe what you believe. God won't strike you down where you stand if you don't meet your quota of conversions.

I think the more logical question is why on earth to today's humans still believe what primitive ones did? I would be embarrassed if my thought process was on the same wave length as a human from 2000+ years ago.

Were talking about the same humans that didn't even know what stars were or why birds could fly and thought the amount of fish they caught was influenced by their relationship with a higher power.

Give me a break.

Does it matter what the topic is these days? Gamespot breaks seem to consist of Snipes vs. The World (or GabuEx).

Actually, I think that it often is, albeit stated in a nicer fashion. It is a perfectly reasonable argument as well, being that one doesn't have reason to believe in something which lacks evidence. Hence, not believing in God.

There is no proof. Athiests generally disbelieve because of not enough evidence. There is no doubt in my mind he exists however.

Apologies, but the word 'either' was what i was focusing on. Atheists do not concern themselves with proof. They do not attempt to prove or disprove the existence of a God. That duty is placed firmly on the shoulders of those who assert that God does exist. So thus for Snipes to declare that the position of the atheist is 'we don't have any proof but neither do you' is disingenuous, as that is not the case at all.

Faith. That's why people call religions faiths. Whether most admit it or not, there is literally no solid foundation on which to believe anything the Church tells you other than simply choosing to accept it as the truth via a leap of faith.

Precisely why the quote by Snipes is a reasonable argument for atheism. The fact that you have no proof is irrelevant to the subject. Basically, Snipes just won the atheist's side of the argument for them, (inadvertently?) while managing to say it in a derogatory fashion to the atheists.

Faith is just a euphemism for "I don't have any evidence, but I'll believe it anyway." That still doesn't get to the root of the question though. There has to be some underlying reason for the faith, whether it's indoctrination, fear, etc. Or maybe Robbo had a revelation and believes he has seen evidence of god. Who knows.

Well, I think that the Bible's origin story and science's origin story don't line up well enough.

I might still believe in God, I dunno, I'm still on the fence.

Robbazking
Science in the bible? Were? :O

Like the scientific evidence of the first lifeforms on earth, compared to just a god creating it in seven days
