Based on the explanation (narrated by Morgan Freeman) on sound editing and mixing, how the hell did Avatar not win Best Sound Editing and Mixing?

Considering Avatar's sound people had to create these sounds from complete scratch, from nothing. They had to create new sounds for every living thing in Pandora. All of the machines, the Na'Vi sound effects, everything. So how did The Hurt Locker, which consisted simply of mixing and shooting guns and explotions win? It makes no sense. I'm not saying it wasn't hard to do, but it is extremely clear Avatar deserved those awards.

It does show that The Hurt Locker will sweep this.

Avatar is not a bad choice for Cinematography, but The Hurt Locker should have won IMO.
