[QUOTE="codymcclain14"]>Well you answered your first question, "those are man made".

And the second thing you brought up, [ about Japan ] just kinda proves God is real. Japan is mostly a Buddhist nation, God will bring destruction to all nations who does not fallow him. And also, all the natural disasters that we are seeing today was predicted in the Bible.

Your post is far from real 'proof' just another opinion.

I myself am still believes in God.

lol? :?

Where and how were they predicted in the Bible?

I don't remember what verses it is in. :P Maybe someone else can quote it from the Bible? But somewhere in the bible it says these typs of natural disasters will happen closer to the end of time.

So the prediction of disasters is proof. Okay I'll make a prediction in the nesxt few thousand years there will be earth quakes, hurricanes and Tsunamis. (Bet you that will come true some time)

[QUOTE="sonofsmeagle"]

First of all, I most certainly dont talk for every Athiest in the world i'm but one man in this universe with a sense of belief or better put would be a sense of disbelief, disbelief of god that is, well the christian god that i would have to say is the most common in god to be worshipped in the Western World.

If god is this all powerful being that created the universe and answers the prayers of the rightious and just and will save you aslong as you are faithful to him, then why does he allow so many innocent people to die?

Surely the bible preachers peace and fellowship amongst all men and women across the planet and it lays down a set of laws that humans must follow to stay rightious during their time on this world otherwise he will vanquish them, which he surely will do, i mean it says so in the bible there is storys of him punishing people and sending entire apocalypses to wipe them out.

And yet....

He let that happen, i mean the common consensus amongst alot of christians that i have come across and seen in american media is that he does everything, if he can give a baby of completely innocent and god-fearing parents a life threatening condition that makes it die before its a teenager couldnt he have done the same for good ole Adolf,

Or Stalin

Or Pol Pot

or even the hoff

or stopped this from happening, i mean surely he could have pulled a gust of wind out of bum that made the plane have to immediately land or even created a storm to dangerous to fly in,

Okay okay sure they are all man made disasters i mean americans dropped the bomb, germans spawned hitler that was corrupted by a school knocking him back in vienna and fueld by his hatred of what the allies did to his country while stalin was probabaly touched as a child by nothing other than a man.

but then what about his....

The 2004 tsunami i'm sure you all remember this doozy of nature that was responsible for hundreds of thosuands of deaths,

Or haiti, what you still dont remember this other act of nature that killed hundreds of thousands?

ok what about this,

You have to remember this, it was in Japan not too long ago it was all across the news,

If god is supposed to protect the innocent and not punish them, then why did all this happen, i mean surely man couldnt have caused all those earthquakes, surely not all of those killed were terrible people there had to be a few innocent ones in there that didnt deserve to die.

Why does he let this happen if there truely is an all powerful god?

My answer is simple, there is no god or if there is he is nothing like we think he is, he may aswell be Cthulu.

Or maybe he wasnt responsible for those earhtquakes and such maybe he just didnt notice the tremors and couldnt stop them because he was too busy giving Aids to babys in africa and causing drought?

codymcclain14

If this is really true, and if such a god really do exist, is this a god you want to follow? Japanese are some of the most hard working, most polite and most civilized people in the world, Japan is really one of the pinnicles of modern societies. Just because most of them are atheists, some follow Buddhist ideologies, that's the reason for such destruction? If I didn't know it was god's plan, I would have thought that it's the narrowminded idea of some ancient savages

Oh and also, Sweden has probably the greatest percentage of atheists in western societies, how come some of the "faithful" countries such as USA, New zealand, and Australia, were punished this year by Tornado, Earthquake, and Great flood, and nothing really happened to Sweden at all?

-_-' No sh*t there has always been natural disasters. If you really haven't noticed how much more common Earthquakes have been latly, then you are living in a cave! :P The weather in the past year and 2, has been really f***ing crazy. The bible said closer to the end of time Earthquakes will be really common. I'm not some perfect precher or anything, I'm just telling everyone what I've grown up knowing. And also, think about it. the earth quake in Hati. Hati was a nation that soposedly made a "deal with the devil" back when the French was in their country. And Japan being a buddhist nation. All of these REALLY bad disasters are happening to none christian nations. Also the Bible predected the middle-east, with all thats gonig on there, and how most of the nations in the middle-east will fight against Isreal. Read the Bible sometime and find out for your self.

so why did god punish Haiti? Religion is professed by almost all Haitians: According to the CIA World Factbook,[1] the religious demographics of Haiti is as follows: Roman Catholic 80%, Protestant 16% (Baptist 10%, Pentecostal 4%, Adventist 1%, other 1%) 96% christian should outweigh 1 person's "deal with the devil"

They're not more common, we just hear about them more often. Instead of getting world history from the bible or who ever tells you this stuff why don't you try reading some academic books? Specifically ones that talk about this crap you seem to believe.

Many diseases and natural disasters could probably be the work of Satan (also known as the Devil) and his armies of demons and fallen angels. God probably has nothing to do with this because God is a good and kind being (if I'm not wrong). Satan could be more powerful than God actually and he is what is causing the bad things in the world. That is my explanation but I'm sure that there are others.

Maybe because its not true and bad things just happen, there is no greater plan. Vague predictions that come true are easy to make. Especially when you have people that are trying to fit them into any scenario.

But god is also supposedly all powerful, how can God be good if lets Satan exist when he is all powerful? GOd therefore lets all the suffering in the world to happen for no reason which means god cannot be good.

Well religious beliefs have been proved wrong. Like Heaven being in the Clouds. Religion was just a way for ancient people to explain the unexplainable and it has been so ingrained in people now that they will ignore all evidence that proves their beliefs wrong.

Religous beliefs can't be proved wrong. True, Heaven isn't in the clouds. :P You can't get there untill you're dead. There is no "hard" proof God is not real. Nor is there proof God is real.

Because you can't prove God isn't real when someone just has to say god did it, prove God exists surley if he did he would pronounce it so that no misunderstandings would ever exist.. Numerous beliefs that are integral to the religion have been proven wrong. Evolution and the earth being billions of years old are some examples.

Far from facts, but talking to OT'ers is like talking to a wall. Useless, and also I was busy talking to people on Facebook, so I had to drop out of this convosation. :P

Read the Bible sometime and find out for your self.codymcclain14

are you being serious? are you actually repeating what Pat robertson said about haiti? it was a revolution, the french were crippled by disease and lost their colony. revolutions happen without magical intervention. (and how does a nation make a deal with the devil? who speaks for all the haitians? who's present at the demonic summoning?:P do they have representative soul-selling? how the heck is the modern generation responsible for what ancestors [for the sake of argument] did, and how do they deserve natural disasters and suffering?) the french losing haiti actually secured the young United states against french expansion.

Earthquakes are not more common, they are just reported on more now. The 24/7 instanews enables this. You remind me of myself as a teenager. You make me think you don't really want to be a Christian at all, but you're so scared sh*tless of the hell threat ingrained in you since youth that you refuse to even hear out anything contrary to your beliefs. You slap your hands on your ears and go "nah nah nah I can't hear you!" so the big bad sky daddy doesn't smack you down into a burning pit of flames. (out of love, of course, because as we all know love is burning your disobedient children to death!)

Hell isn't real, and if your God is half as smart as he is claimed to be, he will see that your faith is entirely "fear of the whip" based, and you would go to hell anyway. You aren't a true believer. Just a scared idiot.

The world is corrupt with evil. Has been for a long time (see: the story of Adam and Eve).

I mean, even his own people get the boot; "9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained." -Revelations 6.

This argument is terrible actually. Look at Exodus, the Hebrew slaves. They were God's people yet they were slaves and God knew it. Like I said, the world is corrupt and has been from the start.

Lol.

I don't know if there's one supreme god,but i'm quite certain that higher entities and spirits are VERY real.

It's really naive and ignorant to think they don't.

Yet absolutely zero evidence for the paranormal has ever been found in a controlled environment where it could be properly studied. Ghosts, ghouls, demons, goblins and gods all seem to get really shy around James Randi, to this day. When Mr.Randi has his million dollar challenge fulfilled, I've give the supernatural the time of day.

God doesn't reveal himself as much to everyone. Some hearts are hardened and he lets them continue that way. Your probably one of those predestined for hell, he doesn't choose everyone. Enjoy the heat.

Where and how were they predicted in the Bible?

Primarily from the Book of Revelations. But even being the Christian I am, I will admit the book is chock full of symbolism and open to a very wide range of interpretation.

Honestly, without my fear of Gods wrath. I wouldn't try so hard to be christain. So yes.

Doesn't sound like something a Christian would say. At least not one who actually believed.

[QUOTE="Ncsoftlover"]Sweden has probably the greatest percentage of atheists in western societies, how come some of the "faithful" countries such as USA, New zealand, and Australia, were punished this year by Tornado, Earthquake, and Great flood, and nothing really happened to Sweden at all?pariah3

Please go away troll. Seriously, that is the dumbest explanation I've ever heard. In fact by reading that I'm pretty sure I just got dumber. The world is governed by a set of natural laws that were put into place at creation. A God who creates a universe that governs itself (via natural laws) would be more powerful than a God who has to constantly control aspects of the universe. He doesn't directly cause, death, destruction, etc, and neither does satan. Many things that happen in the world are caused by natural effects that must occur given the rules the universe is governed by. We are only a small part of the universe, if you look at everything as a whole things are earth are not that terrible.

Ncsoftlover

This is a God I definitely would not want to follow. I've heard countless excuses as to why God allows suffering. The most common one being, of course, that God has a special plan. But so far, none cut the mustard. They don't even come close. They don't justify God's actions at all. The fact that people accept these excuses is ridiculous. The second common excuse is that we shouldn't question God's mysterious ways. I'm not even going to comment on that.

There's only one reason needed... All religion points to books written by men. Religion is man made and if you look back far enough to the very beginning of each of the main religions you will find that what got them to spread was not "faith" it was brute force by armies controlled by monarchs and warlords. When democracy kicked in religion stopped spreading and now its used to separate people and fuel wars. Religion has always been a tool and its origins point to a man. Religion is a weapon of war and has caused more deaths than all diseases combined.Religion is the worst thing to happen to humanity.Grey_Eyed_Elf

The answer to this question is obvious.

God didn't vote Hitler into power, humans did. God didn't create nuclear weapons, humans did. People are quick to blame and never take responsibility for their own actions. We humans reap what we sow.

Now, you may talk to me about famine, something that we didn't create. Well, in a way famine IS our fault. On one side of the world, you have people dying of obesity and over eating, and on the other side people are starving. Wait, thats not our fault! It must be Gods!

There are people living on less that $1 a week, yet some spend bllions of dollars on weapons. Wait, its Gods fault!

I can't speak for every religion, but in Islam, evil exists due to the abscence of good. If someone is starving, its because we allow them to starve. Its our fault, and its our god given responsibility to help them. But we don't.

BUT we have the choice. We have free will. That is the point of life, to make choices and live with them. We're here for a very short period of time to do something great. Anyone who says life is pointless is deluded in my opinion.

There's no proof that a god exists and there's no proof that a god doesn't exist. So here's what you do - you let them "believe" and you keep living the good life. Simple, I know.

Well...by Christian mythos this whole Earth and our lives here is solely one big test to see who's fit for heaven and who isn't. It wouldn't be much of a test if there would be no temptations and hardships in life, wouldn't it?
