What's the big deal with cigarettes? Everyone hates them yet I don't see a problem with them. They are stress relieving, tasty, enjoyable and provide something to do. Besides the fact that they smell nice, they are also cool. Who else here smokes and enjoys it throughly?

I smoke but I do not find it greatly enjoyable. Yes there are positive sides,but there are also negative effects and as I get older they become more apparent.
I hate them because the simple act of walking inside a store or building is challenged by me trying to hold my breath. I hate them because the whole "its a stress reliever" thing is an adaptation. I don't smoke, yet i have stress. I deal with it. Im doing fine. Also, they cost a lot of money these days. Oh, and the carcinogens and all that stuff. Look, you can smoke, i dont hold you against it, but personally, i dont like the notion of smoking..personally of course.
The more you smoke the more you will realize that they are not good for you. While not everyone suffers negative side effects many do, and this definitely includes shortening your life. Poisons into your body can never be a good thing. I'm not telling you not to smoke, but it's definitely not good for your health.

It seems to be that I have an asthma attack every time I'm around cigarette smoke. Odd, I know. And on top of that, you can die from an asthma attack and even from cigarettes. Hmm. Dare to continue to say they are good?
Having recently quit can defintely see the appeal, and understand the lack of desire to start, but can only shake my head when people get worked into a lather over how great/stupid (delete where applicable) it is. "It wipes 20 years off your life!" "Great, I can avoid rest homes and adult diapers then."

Well it depends on your family history. Theres no lung cancer in my family and my grandfather smoked everyday and died at 84 of natural causes not caused by smoking. My uncle smokes half a pack a day and he's been doing so for over 35 years and he's fine (for now). Fast food also poisons the body and breathing in carbon monoxide from car exhausts is also bad face it your not going to avoid everything bad in life.

I smoke cigs and rollies. I like them, even though I know they are bad for me. Luckily I can't afford them or buy them legally so I only smoke them once in a while.
I think that they taste and smell awful. I don't get anything out of them. They're clearly very bad for your health, so that's mainly why I choose not to smoke them. I have to admit that I don't mind having a menthol (yeah, wimpy, whatever) with a friend every once in a while, but I could NEVER make it a habit....EVER.

ya i smoke, theyre relaxing, theres some tobacco mix ciggies that are just plain delicious and damn well theyre pretty good... but now i cant quit (i tried, managed for around 2 months, couldnt resist) and its sad, it can make you less attractive to chicks, and the health risks suck, if i could choose again i wouldve never smoked but oh well, i dont do it excessively so i guess ill be fine
It's sure been a while since I had a smoke. I stopped smoking cause it caused a sick mess in my jacket pocket...but if I were able to carry them with a bit of cleanliness, I'd like smoke every other day. I love cigarettes, but only occasionally, I think...2 or 3 in rapid succession and I feel like I'm levitating.

smoking sucks you stink, you lose hot chicks you could have had a chance with, or you could even be a hot chicka nd lose out because your smoking habbit just makes you look...trashy. smoking ot me makes people in general look trashy it has to do with it being a thing that is bad for you but you do it anyway because your not wanting to try other ways of getting those "benefits" ways that are not going to kill you later in a horrible manner or the ones you love in a horrible manner.
