Thats what I don't get, I dont understand why an atheist cares about there life, also a christian can't do evil things with the intent of being forgiven, at least that is what I was tought. I hope Im being inquisitive as intended and not offensive.

I believe there are stories (either in the Bible, or somehwere else...dunno) of people repenting to God right before their demise so they could maybe get the ticket to Heaven. So that's where that idea came from.

See, that stuff really can't be taken literally. You have to see it for the message it's trying to give us. Yes, we all do bad things in life, but if you're truly sorry for them, then by all means die peacefully.
