Seriously why did you Brits ban hand guns? I'm getting my concealed carry license soon so I can carry in public, I just feel safer with it. I have been attacked before and I would have killed them in self defense if I had a gun.
How do you guys avoid groups of people that want to hurt you? How do you hurt them back and defend yourself? How do you expect to kill them if they are trying to kill you? Makes no sense.
Hexagon_777
Use common sense. I personally avoid areas that are known for trouble, with tight gun laws the majority of the time the worst thing that can happen is someone will pull a knife on you and if this is the unfortunate case it's usually a mugging. So I'd just hand over my stuff and walk away. Alive.
The chances of that happening are fortunatly very low if you live where I'm fortunate enough to live, i.e. the suburbs and not inner city.
Also you talk about killing someone pretty matter of factly. I find it hard to believe any sane generally good hearted person could be so cold about it, unless they were being particularly naive about it. Or perhaps I'm the one being naive.
And he says Europeans speak bad of the Jews when he himself is being a bad example of a Jew by telling us that he is a cold killing machine. Damn hypocrite.I don't kill anyone, just self defense is a neccessity. And you have to be prepared to kill someone in the right circumcstances. It's just a fact of life. Someone breaks into your house and they are going to harm you and your family what are you going to do? You have to be prepared to kill them or they are going to kill you.
And we Jews are no longer the clever but wimpy stereotypes anymore. Our story is one literaly of survival, and Israel is proof of that. We will not return to the gas chambers, we will not rely on others for survival, we have to rely on ourselves.
You must be kind and love others fore most, but show no mercy to those who want to wipe you from existence. You probably don't understand. My life story is probably vastly different from your life story. But trust me, you have to learn to defend yourself.
This thread is redundant anyway; every country in the world is inferior to Canada. Ninja-Hippofixed that for ya
To be fair, after weighing all arguements and counter arguements and after cross examining the available evidence, I find this location to be the superior country.
It's called Sealand and it even has it's own flag and a population of 4. It boasts a modest economy with a GDP of $600,000, it's own currency and royalty and soon will have it's own casino. If we ignore the fact it's not TECHNICALLY a country...yet.

Well you probably had a safer child hood then I did. But I gew up around bad people, it affects how you grow up. I'm much better now though, I've become to realise most of it is in my head and there is no real threat. But sometimes I still wonder....
Still doesn't change the fact that there are bad people out there, what would you do if you got approached by multiple guys one day and they surrounded you? How are you going to get out of that alive? If you had a gun you could kill them and defend yourself.
Or what if someone broke into your home? You wouldn't let them hurt your family would you?

Umm....no lol. There are good areas and bad areas of town, and in bad areas you would know what I'm talking about. It's best to avoid them compltetly which is what I do, but I used to work in one of those areas and it was terrible, I didn't feel safe at all.
UK is too kind... that's the problem, immigrants come here and simply take advantage and as a punishment get a third of what they deserve and only actually serve half of it, we have human rights law and it sucks, murderers get 10 years in a comfortable room with TVs and a hot meal.JohnF111
much much much much much much much much lower homicide rate compared to the US
Again, the US has nothing to lecture on the criminal law sentencing department, most people in the world locked up, highest percentage of people locked up, one of the highest recidivism rate, and highest homicide rate across all developed nations, those come together like a neat little package.
You were responding to the third sentence and not the second, right? You wouldn't mix up Austria and Australia, riiight?[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]
[QUOTE="OmenUK"]
I'd guess that it may be so high in Australia due to all the rural towns and the fact that they're prone to local wildlife attacks so may be incidents of people accidentally getting shot added on to what would be otherwise low figures.OmenUK
Australia and UK are neck to neck in term of total homicide rate, no reason to assume their crime rate is higher than UK
Perhaps just homicide involving guns, that category is higher in Australia.

All I know is that the US has better shopping than Canada.
I have to say this is true, especially fashion labels, so much cheaper and so much better selection in US
It's an even battle, although the UK may just have the edge by virtue of pickled onion monster munch.

If you guys are worried about homicide rates you should move to Japan or Singapore asap.

Singapore is a repressive country, a police state, the government actually arrest people writting book questioning the death penalty. The government commits homicide agaisnt drug addicts all the time, I consider executing people for possession of small amount of drugs government murder.
Japan has a rising violent crime problem in youth as well, and the living condition is not that ideal, but overall, I can picture living there, much rather there than Singapore anyway.
Overall I guess UK is a pretty good place to go. Crime rates arn't bad overall and anti Semitism isn't really there (sure there may be a few bad people, but that's everywhere).
I guess I will consider travel plans to go there. But I gotta find out where to go, best places and whatnot. I want to see REAL England, not tourist, but someone who wants to learn.

And I feel perfectly safe walking around it at night. Something I can't say about comparable North American and European cities.

Well being gay is illegal in singapore, even though they don't enforce the law, the seals the deal for me.
Singapore's lower crime rate is not so much related for the draconian laws, Malaysia has it worse, it has more to do with their being in a nicer location, relatively rich, low gap between rich and poor, and 5 million in a small dense area, much easier to police.
The countries' anti expression, it has a big punishment culture starting from elementary school, self claimed "family conservative values", highest execution rate in the world in the 90's for crimes like possessing some marijuana, lack of democracy and lack of freedom of press/speech, etc etc , just not my kind of place, I guess if the only thing a person cares about is crime rate, they can consider moving to Singapore.
But because singapore government is not that open about their crime rate statistics, there's actually no reason to assume that they have that low of a crime rate, just because people "feel" safe, that could be very much an illusion, when the government is not allowing media to be complete open about it.
