[QUOTE="l4dak47"]Speaking as a U.S. citizen, all I can say is the U.S. is really, really, really sh*tty in many ways. Postmortem123

What's so bad about it? I've been to the U.S a couple times and it was pretty awesome.

Education sucks, healthcare system is woefully bad, our politicians are fvcking god-awful, waaaaay too many fundies in this place, dumb laws, we keep losing more and more rights and freedoms, and I can go on forever. The only thing the U.S. is good at is bombing brown people. Not exactly an honorable thing.

Education is not THAT bad, and anyways we have a different teaching philosophy that focuses more on analysis. Other countries practice rote memorization instead. Healthcare system, I personally think it's fine as I'm not too fond of large wait times, but to each his own. Politicians are bad in all countries but the U.S. is in actuality has a pretty non corrupt govt. Also, *bombing brown people that are terrorists.

"we have a different teaching philosophy that focuses more on analysis" Bullsh*t. The U.S. is a very religious nation. Religious people are not even remotely analytic. Healthcare system is really bad. Our health insurance only care about profits, not something I would want to trust my health to. Our politicians are bad. Congress has something like an 80% disapproval rating. We just bomb brown people regardless of whether they're terrorists or not. WE are the terrorists. We have killed far more innocent civilians than 9/11.

Your first statement that religous people are not analytical is an obvious generalization..not going to deal with that, you and I both know that's very stereotypical. And because they care about profits from you, that means they have to offer the best deals so that people can give them money..as opposed to a one size fits all government mandated system. I think the disapproval rating has less to do with corruption and more to do with the fact that congress can't get sh*t done..and for your last statement, I'd suggest searching up the definition of "terrorist" before you make such a bold statement...and no, we don't go around purposely killing innocent civilicians...civilian casualties are always going to happen in wars.

ter·ror·ize? ?[ter-uh-rahyz] Show IPA verb (used with object), ter·ror·ized, ter·ror·iz·ing. 1. to fill or overcome with terror. 2. to dominate or coerce by intimidation. 3. to produce widespread fear by acts of violence, as bombings. U.S. fits this.

For the same reason you worship your god. Cause I'm a hateful, vengeful person who doesn't care about anybody. Also, I always bring religions into topics to show you fundies what it's like to deal with your constant bs everyday.

Religion has done so much good to the world it's not even funny...just because something is done in the name of religion does not mean it necessarily is what that religion says....a Black Panther can say he killed a white man in the name of MLK...does that mean this is what MLK preached? Religion has also kept society from progressing further along and is a serious obstacle to human rights and freedoms. Didn't go to church weekly? Y u so fundie, then?

Christianity and freedom are interchangeable dude... Also, you don't have to go to church weekly to love God.

You dense? Freedom and Christianity does not coexist. Ex. gay marriage. I suppose you're right. All you need to do to prove to your god you love him is to get down on your knees every night.

That is based on tradition..note that gays are allowed to live freely and do what they wish with themselves in America, a completely Christian country. Now compare this to India, the Middle East, and China.

[QUOTE="l4dak47"][QUOTE="kingkong0124"] Religion has done so much good to the world it's not even funny...just because something is done in the name of religion does not mean it necessarily is what that religion says....a Black Panther can say he called a white man in the name of MLK...does that mean this is what MLK preached? Btw, newsflash, I'm not a fundie, believe it or not I was not the type of person that went to Church weekly growing up!kingkong0124

I'm not Christian, does that mean I'm not free? :(

it's okay dude..we all go through hard times, just direct your anger through things like sports and video games rather than people that believe in God.

Gays most certainty are not not allowed to live freely. You have preachers calling for their demise and you refuse to give them the same rights as everybody else. Also, all those other nations are religious, except for China

They are allowed to do whatever they wish dude...and I was pointing out that you should be really angry at those other areas rather than the U.S. if you're talking about issues regarding freedom.

They can't marry. Sure there are countries that are worse, but not being the worst doesn't mean you're great.

No, they're not. Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it so. I live in the U.S. Why would I focus on other nations where I can't do anything when there is serious issues here?

Is America a completely Christian country? Or is it that it's not an entirely Christian country, and the subsequent outrage over contraception/gay marriage/abortion comes from those with said religious background?

Marriages are fundamentally religious institutions.. for some reason the government decided to get involved in that (which I don't necessarily agree with), but still.
