I don't know what's worse: that they decided to steal a pizza of all things, or that they died as a result of it.

pianist

Not just any pizza, either. Pizza Hut pizza. Who steals Pizza Hut pizza?

LOL, again.

You can't blame it on the Pizza guy, when one experiences a situation that appears life threatening both the body and mind go through a state of extreme stress. I know that kid didn't deserve to die, but some people are just not trained for situations like that.

I am sorry, no one desserves to die for such a pathetic reason. the pizza man should have given them the pizza and continued on.

RiseAgainst12

so they can continue to rob ?

I agree with the not dying, but if you are prepared to rob then you must know people will defend them selves any means necessary.

After thinking through, the pizza man should've shot in the air to scare them off. Honestly, he didn't have to kill one of them. Sure they were beating him up, but if they really wanted to kill him....they wouldn't just use their fists. Pretty bad scenario from the get go.

Hindsight is 20/20. He was ambushed by a group of people he did not know or at the very least suspect of attacking him (remember, he was called to a real family's address). The teens' intentions were clearly to hurt this man, believing it was the only way to get the food. No threats were made and he was blatantly attacked by multiple assailants. He went with what he knew, drew his weapon and fired. It sounds stupid, but they should have just demanded the pizza upfront, stating they were unarmed, but were ready to fight. Then at least he would know what they were after and not have feared for his life. The kid died as a result of his and his companions' poor planning.

Exactly. They should have said "Listen, I want the pizza, we are willing to fight for it, though we are unarmed. Give us the pizza or get the crap beat out of you." Then he could've gave them the pizza and called the police. Instead they went and start jumping a 43-year old man over a $25 pizza and get owned because of it.

After reading the article... and reading through this thread... its pretty interesting to see people make comments on half information. "Oh he was being assaulted?!" WTF. And on topic. Good job to the pizza man. I would rather have one punk ass life on my hands than not have mine. My life is worth more than yours as it is MY life. You can say the same too.

I live in Columbia and this is the first I've heard about this. Shouldn't have attacked the guy,he had every right to defend himself.
