*U.S Government goes on rampage in the world killing 16,000 innocent civilians over the last how many decades?*
Can I kill this topic too?

Everyone has done their fair share of killing innocents, get off your high horse.
Foresight, this solider lacked any. Taliban have yet another recuitment tool. Dumbass.
Wasdie
It's probably safe to say he lacked more than that.

That happens when the enemy sets up their base of operations in schools, religious buildings, and hospitals and uses suicide bombers, IEDs, and human shields.
Just a thought.
You're probably one of those who believe that 9/11 should have gone unanswered as well as all of those bombings that happened in Europe in the years after.
Here comes a several pharagraph response saying how America deserved it, or America should never have attacked, or Iraq was a mistake, all laiden with tons of sarcasm, what-ifs, and after the fact opinions from people who like to sit on their high horse and think they are better for calling America out on a forum on the internet.
And kill 16 innocent civilians? Can't you go insane on a punching bag or something?I don't balme him. I would go insane if I was stuck over there too.

[QUOTE="Xx_Socrates_xX"]And kill 16 innocent civilians? Can't you go insane on a punching bag or something? I wasn't completely serious, but you can't think logically when you go insane like that. You just can't. But I agree that he should still be punished, killing 16 people is terrible.I don't balme him. I would go insane if I was stuck over there too.

Let the kid of his ignorant views of what goes on over there. That's a shame.....but then it did say he had a breakdown which is also a shame.LJS9502_basicI don't buy that for a second. You can justify anything by saying someone went insane. He left his base walked, around the village, he knew what he was doing.

But it's also a shame that the soldier is a casualty as well.

I only read part of the story off of Yahoo and it didn't go into too much detail. It only talked about how the Afghan president condemned the attack and it didn't mention the Soldier having any accomplices.
If he's guilty he needs to be court-martialed and if convicted put away for a long time. I understand that other troops were murdered due to the Koran burnings but that doesn't give him the excuse to execute innocent civilians.
Being deployed can be stressful especially when you have to deal with the Taliban using schools and mosques as bases of operation. But when it comes down to it, US troops have to do the right thing and not resort to revenge.
If that Soldier did what he did because he was mentally ill he needs help. But he still needs to be locked up as well.

Fighting and being a target....watching friends die or become maimed DOES effect the mental stability of people. Or do you know something the psychiatric community doesn't?

Look at the lengths you're going to just to rationalize this. What if a afghan who had his whole family killed in a US strike walked onto a military base and killed 15 soldiers? You'd be calling for his head.

It messes with your head, which wasn't his fault. If you want to be a typical human being and blame someone then blame the Taliban. They're the reason the war started.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant treatment when I said he needed help if he was mentally ill. If he's being treated for mental illness he would most likely still be locked up somewhere but just not with the general population at Fort Leavenworth.

No one is rationalizing it. Look at the lengths you're going to in order to blame someone. Sometimes the actor is a victim as well. And justice should ALWAYS be tempered with mercy.[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="BossPerson"]No one's fault? give me a break........No one is rationalizing it.
