Our health care system is fvcking awful.

MannyDelgado

work out & eat right = best general healthcare system in the world, and it is completely GOV free, at least in america.

thisiswhatlibertariansreallythink.jpg

i live my life as i espouse, my vitals are great, my energy is high, i rarely get sick. living healthy is by far the best way to stay healthy, how does that not connect to you. it is all good though, you go on and count on others for your health, dont exercise and eat like sh!t it may end up costing you an arm and a leg and me much in taxes, but chances are i will live longer happier and obviously healthier.

I thought we were discussing cultural diversity, rather than ancestry. Meine mutter kommt auf Deutschland, aber ich bin ein Englander. London isn't cherry picked - it is the capital of England and where I live.

:D wondering how i understood that, by knowing 0 german, it's so weird how dutch is so close to german :O

Well, I'm right. You're a slimy c*nt who can't backpedal to save his life.

No, your wrong and you have to resort to personal insults like a child because you can't form a decent argument.

The fact is you are not allowed to own a handgun or conceal carry in England, even getting a rifle or a shot gun there is an extreamely restricted process. I doubt the majority of English people have even fired a gun before in their entire life.

Yes, and America has had immigrants come from all over that European continent for the past few centuries. The largest single ancestry stands at 15% (Germany). I'd continue, but numbers speak louder than words:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancestry_of_the_people_of_the_United_States

And that's for the whole country, not a cherry-picked city.

RationalAtheist

I thought we were discussing cultural diversity, rather than ancestry. Meine mutter kommt auf Deutschland, aber ich bin ein Englander. London isn't cherry picked - it is the capital of England and where I live.

Unless you are implying that England's immigrants hold onto their culture moreso than American immigrants, I don't exactly understand why that is a relevant point. There isn't really a distinct "American" culture - it's a lot of sh!t mostly from Europe. Yes, England is the capital city of your country - it's, from my understanding, the most culturally diverse.

Your "right to bear arms" is not really a right if they stop most people from owning fire arms, and banning hand guns out right. You cannot defend yourself without a hand gun.

i am not worth the effort of what? attempting to stawman? then why did you? or is it that you simply did not understand my words? you are the only one who has control over your body and the choices you make in life effects that body. if you mistreat your body it will be hurt, that is no ones fault but yours, as only you control your body. point out where the thesis is wrong, does someone else make you act? no, because if you answered yes i would be talking to the controller and not the puppet.

stupid people do not understand simple word combinations. such as "general health" oppose to "specific health" a persons kidneys are bad, that is a specific health problem, running a mile a day cant fix that, though it might have prevented it, but for this specific health problem there is a specific treatment (dialysis)

Too many variables. The US has a far larger population than the UK, and the vast majority of gun related crimes in the US are due to criminals getting guns illegaly through things like the black market. The average gun owning American is a law abiding citizen and do not commit crimes.

In fact guns save more lives than commit crimes, you can learn about it here:

1) Ignores the cultural effects of widespread gun ownership and their consequences 2) You'll need better than that unless it's the case in 39/40 cases (and even if it were - which I'm willing to bet it isn't - you'd still have point 1 to deal with)

So telling the truth here = trolling? Sounds like your too biased to your emotions and just want to dismiss the truth by calling other people trolls.

There are only 2 trpes of good people in this world, the survivors and the victims. By not owning a gun you place yourself in the victim category. We live in a broken world, there are some very bad people out there and they are willing to hurt you and your family to get what they want. They have no remorse at all.

Most people are good right? It's easy to say that in times of peace, but in times of hardship and uncertainty people show their true colors, and unfortunately many people are not as civilized as you think. Many of these good people now often throw out their morals and become bad themselves.

Look at what happens around the world, New Orleans for example, After Katrina there was pure anarchy and people were raping and killing each other, preying on their fellow man. The future is unknown, but I advise you to be prepared. That's why I recommend stocking up, learning how to fire guns and survive on your own.

You never know what will happen.

America has p. much always (like, since there was guns or America) had a significantly higher crime rate in general than the U.K. - in part, seemingly, to cultural differences. It has also addressed income inequality - well, it actually hasn't meaningfully addressed it. There are sections of the population that have, historically, been socially and economically discriminated against, which causes crime and then that compounds itself culturally after so many generations. Can this explain the difference in gun crime between the two countries? I'm not entirely sure. Then again, one can procure a firearm in the U.K. There simply is less of an interest to have one. That alone might make a substantial difference, but at the same time, Switzerland also has a very low homicide rate. I guess what I'm getting at is that controlling for this sh!t is, to say the least, a wee difficult. Moreover, within the U.S., it needs to be addressed whether really tight gun control would reduce crime, even if it has for Europe. Why? Because there are 270 million privately owned firearms in the country - that is quite a saturation not quite comparable to the levels when other Western nations enacted theirs. A black market for the weapons with ready access to said weapons would be around for the foreseeable future, and generally speaking, the people inclined to obey the laws are not nearly as likely to misuse their firearms.

TL;DR: Gun law sh!t ITT seems to be conjecture. The one thing that can be said with certainty, however, is that you're quite a bit less likely to be murdered in England.

That's a shame. Owning and shooting guns is a good hobby, I enjoy it and I think most English people would too if they got the chance. But your Nanny State won't let you do it, because they don't want you to be able to defend yourself.

ShadowMoses900

Seriously Shadow, you said you would stop acting like a 5 year old, everytime I think your a normal decent guy you come out with some stupid childish trolling. Can you just leave your System Wars troll gag there from now on ok?

Listen. You know very little about the world ok. Stop with your stupid preaching, you are reaching out to no one, you just come across as a bit crazy. No you are wrong, i don't live in a broken world where a gun is needed for survival, don't try an apply your twisted logic to the rest of the world ok because things are different in every corner of the world.......

lulz I HAVE GIVEN YOU FACTS is not a counterargument, especially when the best the website you link to has to offer is jumping to unjustified conclusions from an unrepresentative sample of annotated graphs

Those are all facts that I linked to. It is all based off of the most statistics and it cites SEVERAL studies, and observes them. It provides evidence and proof and has many forms of showing it, there is nothing wrong with the graphs, they are accurate.'

There is however, something wrong with your line of logic. This is what you are doing "My emotions > logic and facts". All you have done is laugh at me and throw insults like a juvenile. You have not presented any facts here, I did.

If you can't accept them than that's your problem, not mine. You're no different than the creationists that deny evolution.

I pointed out the statistical issues with your link, and you failed completely to respond to that. (And no, HURR IT HAS CITATIONS is not a response). So, meh. I'm done with you.

edit: also, I never said their graphs were factually untrue. The issue is with their selection and interpretation. You're even more retarded than I thought if you couldn't pick that up

Because there's no need. Do I feel the need to impress a childish 23 year old? No.

It's not about impressing, it's about arguing with facts. Which I did. You did not, you just get upset and emotional and throw tantrum insults at me.

This happens a lot when you prove people wrong, some people are so biased they won't ever admit the truth. It happens to people who are closed minded.

I've heard rumors that wild shadowmoseses (plural = shadowmosii?) inhabit the U.S., so I want my right to bear arms.

They both have their positives and negatives but I will say US cause I live here even though I like England and the people from there. Also Canada beat the US in the Revolutionary war.

Yes and they defeated the British in the war of 1812, this is why Canada always wins in Canada vs US.

Honestly it depends what you like. For scenery america is by far the better place, when I went on a travel/holiday, some of the sites you guys have are just crazy good. However the poverty (specially in san fransico) was horrible, like literally its depressing that you have such a wealthy powerful country and there are people dead on the streets (most extreme case I saw).

However I think if you are succesful, then America is the place to be, there seems to be a more welcoming persona from americans. Everyone likes to help out, the weather (again I guess for the californian area) is vastly better, there are more things to do and see.

The only problem is that I think in america you can become quite detached to the outside world. Maybe thats because I am used to england and its so much smaller in everything, but like when I went on a trip to yosemeite national park (sorry if I spelt that wrong), there were just random houses in the middle of nowhere. There are isolateed towns where it would appear impossible to escape from.

Pirate700

I highly doubt you saw someone dead on the streets...

Pretty sure the guy was dead. It was on the very edge of Santa Monica, a homeless guy was lying on the floor not moving and a woman and 3 children were standing there, I think the woman was crying, however the only reason why I suspect death or a serious problem was that of the paramedics sent to the scene. I am not sure what actually happened as I was on tour bus, however seeing the state of some of the homeless people in america, it wouldnt supprise me if he was a dead sadly.

They were connected in a way, Canada always comes out on top though.
