[QUOTE="mfacek"]I have a problem with her being scripted. Her consultants, anaylsts and speech writers write her scripts and answers, not her. When she gives scripted answers, it's not her talking or answering the question. Therefore, what's the point of the debate? If it was up to me, the canidates wouldn't get any questions in advance.blackngold29
You obviously didn't watch the beginning where they specifically stated only the host knows the questions.

I hear ya but for weeks she had a team to prep her for this debate and to tell her things to say and how to act. McCain limited her interviews because she sounded "stupid" most of the time. Just saying..

Err no politician goes out on stage without a "script" some just sound less scripted than others

Though I am certainly NO fan of Palin, this is true. Biden has also been debate "sparring" for the past several weeks as well. CNN did a story on it today in fact. All politicians go by scripts...no matter what the occasion. Very very very little of what any of them say are their own words.

I'm actually surprised by Palin, she hasn't crashed under presure, and hasn't done a terrible job, both her an Biden however are having fun in their smear campaign.

They get all they need to know. They say "you will be asked about Iraq, terrorism, etc."

Therefore, they have scripted answers for just about every possible answers that could be asked. That's why their answers are usually so smooth, when if without scriots or notes that would never happen.

If it was up to me, no notes, no scripts nothing. Two candidates enter, one leaves a fool.

I don't know what is more suprising, the fact that stubborn Americans voted Bush back into office for a second term, or the fact that some americans are now backing the candidate whose policies most resemble Bush (McCain) And I don't think I've ever seen Sarah Palin answer a tough question on the spot, at least straightforwardly.

Gams and Gammer FTW

Mccain chose Palin as a political stunt.

I never understood this. I'm a baptist. I went to Sunday and church every single Sunday until I left for the military. One of the biggest lessons the bible taught me was to be tolerant of everyone. Love thy neighbor. So whats wrong with gay people getting married? Also talk about being hypocrits...the bible also says to not commit adultry....and yet McCain cheated on his first wife with Cindy who he met in a bar. Yet he's all about family values :roll:aschuhart

What exactly is "family values"? This seems like one of the biggest pieces of propaganda terms I have seen a long time.

And yes she is a gay basher, anybody that joins a pray away the gay evangelical church is a gay basher IMO.

BioShockOwnz

She has never, ever, at any point, said anything remotely anti-gay.

With the possible exception of Biden (I don't know), every candidate in this election is morally opposed to homosexuality and have been in a church that said something negative about it, but none of them want it illegal, so it shouldn't really matter.

Fine, I'll concede gay bashing, was a poor choice of words

If you're using her church as an example, then I guess we better pull Rev. Wright out of hiding, eh?

Uh no, Obama has distanced himself from his past reverend, while Palin is still very much a dedicated Evangelical...Anyway lets not make this all about her stance on homosexuality, I did in fact bring up other points, that have received absolutely no response...Stop nitpicking.

ROFL

how exactly is tax dodging unpatriotic???

sSubZerOo

Becuase you aren't giving money to the government. The same government that protects you, gives you your rights, gaurentees your safety with funding for police and firefighters, and educates your kids. That's why dodging taxes is unpatriotic.

so keeping what you have without it being stolen is unpatriotic?

you assume those services require theft.

Stolen? Theft? You pay the due for LIVING in the country, if you don't like it.. You leave it, its as simple as that. Better yet lets cut off all services from you, including you can't use roads, public facilities, police department, fire department, forage your own food sense numerous services protect you from dangerous foods..

If you think its stealing, then guess what.. You can leave the country, no one is stopping you from that.. But good luck TRYING to find a nation that does not tax you.

wait....what? so the country owns this land? not the people? so i should be a slave to the country? who is the country composed of?

since it's not stealing...consider this syllogism

theft is taking someone's property without consent

taxation is taking someone's property without consent

taxation is theft

Yet again.. Don't use any public facilities, including foods.. You make it sound like you are getting nothing in return.. You are nieve to the extreme..

Lets see how well you handle not having:

A) Police department B) Fire Department C) get risky foods, the government has strict guidelines THEY pay for to protect YOU from health risk in foods. D) DON"T use the roads, the roads are GOVERNMENT financed, if you don't want to pay taxes don't use the roads.

E) Don't think you can get fair and equal treatment in your job place.. Those are government laws, regulations, and agencies that protected your worker rights.. But sense you don't want to get taxed..

F) Get rid of the currency, the currencies is the United States, they control it.. And control the value of it in a sense. Barter with goods. Wage laws don't apply to you, your as good as illegal aliens, and you will be shafted in wages.

g) Don't use public schooling of any kind, it is government funded.

List just goes on.. The way I see it, is if you don't feel like getting taxed.. Well you should not get a single one of these services.. Lets go see how long you last with out these services.

ROFL like i've never heard this argument before.

A) I will use all of those thing because i would choose to pay fees for them. Except the protection from food, I won't pay for an FDA...that's why we have lawsuits.

E?) I don't want regulations on discrimination in the workplace. If a business has poor practices, then don't support them.

F) What does currency have to do with taxation? The best currency we ever had was bank reciepts based on the amount of gold you had. That was the strongest money we ever had. The market would create it's own currency, the government messes it up.**SEE SUB-PRIME MORTGAGE CRISIS** The Federal Reserve is the worst part of our economy.

G) I don't use public schooling...it's awful.

I'm sorry, but I was not aware that all of these services had to be paid for by the government who first takes it from us. Why can't we just pay for the services ourselves. I don't see why you people think that we can't pay for them ourselves. It's not like they are free right now.

So actually I won't go without these services, I'll gladly pay for them freely...and they will be better.

By the way, how did that syllogism treat ya?

It's a term that the GOP has probably used more than any other term and yet, they so rarely follow them. I'm not saying the democrats do....but make false claims of standing by it either.

I would punch my hair transplant surgeons if I was Biden, he looks awful on my hd screen. Red scars all over his head ish.

More seriously ;) Although Biden will most likely win this, Palin, surprised me, I was expecting her to be completly destroyed within the first hour. She seems to be limited by the horrible republican plan in a sense, some part are just impossible to defend.

[QUOTE="blackngold29"]Let me say this again, the host lady made the questions up and told NOBODY what they were about. Obvoiusly the canidates know questions will be about economy, war, what have you so it would be impossible to not allow them to prepare.mfacek

Let me say this again:

They have GUIDELINES on what the questions will be. They don't know the questions, but they know what topics will be brought up.

THanks for reading

Everyone here knows I'm a huge McCain fan, but... I don't consider her winning, there's things she says that's good and things he's says thats good. I wouldn't say She is winning big time.. this debate is alot like the first McCain/Obama debate.

[QUOTE="HiResDes"]Uh no, Obama has distanced himself from his past reverend, while Palin is still very much a dedicated Evangelical...Anyway lets not make this all about her stance on homosexuality, I did in fact bring up other points, that have received absolutely no response...Stop nitpicking. mfacek

Oh, come on. He stayed at that church for 20 years, and he wrote a book (The Audacity of Hope) after a Rev. Wright sermon, which said "white peoples greed runs a world in need." :|

Give me a break, their are radical religious leaders on both sides.

:| And that's what my point was, so no... give me a break. Maybe read the early post which points that out, eh? Dear lord. Anyways, Obama must've liked that sermon, since he named his book after it.

[QUOTE="fat_rob"][QUOTE="blackngold29"][QUOTE="fat_rob"]The format of this debate is so stale...Chutebox

The cage match format would be unfair with a girl though.

I hope that was sarcasm...uhoh...biden just sighed loudly...Al Gore style. Palin wins lol.

He just did it again!

game over...
