I agree with you that these are unpopular opinions.

I can totally defend my comments about MJ and Madonna with evidence tho. As good a singer and dancer as he was, Michael Jackson was a one trick pony. Madonna's music in the 80s in vastly different than what it became in the 90s and 2000s and she just has so much more musical variety. She went from stuff like this to stuff like this to stuff like this. Michael Jackson's music didn't evolve whatosever, although "They Don't Care About Us" is an interesting track.

haha i'd love to see em but wormrot beat out Napalm death for me in terms of live grind and nonsense :P Leng Tch'e are worth seeing live aswell i caught them on their last tour with Origin in the UK :P

I play in a sludge band but were still on the hunt for a vocalist and only been together like a couple weeks,man so easy to rile folks on here sometimes haha.

Oddly enough they never say 1% of music is any good. Also is anybody really listening to the radio nowadays or are people my age getting that "damn kids get off my lawn" mentality?

Here goes:

The idea/concept behind the music is more important than the performance.

Good production is overrated.

Amy Winehouse had an annoying voice.

Bad lyrics can indeed ruin an otherwise good song.

Nearly all lyrics to songs you normally hear on the radio are amateurishly written and hardly ever stand on their own.

English is just way, way overrated as a language for music.

Contrary to popular belief, pop music wasn't better in the 80s or 90s than it is now.

Punk really is dead.

So is rap/hiphop.

Peste Noire probably is one of the best bands ever across all genres.

The Clash has produced some pretty terrible songs (such as Spanish Bombs).

i can't really listen to music if it doesn't have any good lyrics.

but classical and jazz can be an exeption.

Green Day is a great band.

Muse is a great band.

Coldplay and U2 are two of the most boring bands on earth.

AC/DC should have called it quits when Bon Scott died.

Lady Gaga's music is not creative or innovative in any way whatsoever. She writes the same cliche, derivative dance music that's been around forever. Stop trying to pretend it is something more than that.

I think The White Album is the best album the Beatles ever released, despite everything that went on between the band during that time.

I have absolutely zero interest in the Beatle's solo careers.

I don't deny Queen's expertise and talent in their craft, but I find a lot of their songs generally annoying.

I generally refrain from listening to music in foreign languages; for me, there is no sense in listening to music if I can't understand what they're saying. If only I had the dedication and patience to learn new languages...

Hipsters generally have good tastes in music.

A lot of bands in the indie rock genre are the saving graces of contemporary music.

I generally find metal boring, except for a select few artists.

I absolutely cannot stand Katy Perry. I dislike every single song I've heard by her. I'll also add that I don't find her particularly attractive.

I don't judge or excuse artists/bands entirely by their stage presence. If I think their music is sh*t, then chances are I will dislike it if they perform it live as well.

Contrary to popular belief, One Direction is really not THAT bad (Though I still am not too fond of their music)

Adore has some of the best SP songs in it. And Machina/The Machines of God is decent.
