What do you think is the worlds best military?

I say the US military. Every part of it. The Army is huge and a well trained land force, with Rangers and Airborne. Our Navy is the most powerful Navy ever. Our Air Fore is bigger than any other. The Marines are awesome and can go anywhere in a day.(Or a couple.) Although we're not the biggest, and the SAS is better than any of our own Special Force.We've also had an excellent kill/death ratio in the past 3 wars.

England is second though, in my opinion, they're just smaller. And many other western military's have very well trained and well equipped military's. I also think China and NK are overated by some people, and the IDF is underated.

Its to bad Bush is using it the wrong way though, right now, we should only use our military for defense of our country or our allies.

So what do you think is the worlds best military? (There was a thread like this before, and it was awesome.)

Also the most underated element in warfare today is TRANSPORTATION.

The light is starting to come to me and I'm thinking that if we got in a war with China( assuming it was like pre-iraq when we could support a fresh war), we would loose because of their sheer numbers ASSUMING that it was a war on their land.

I'm talking on the infantry front though. if the US kills 2 guys for every death, and China kills one guy for every 2 deaths, and China's force is OVER twice the size of the US, then you can see that in the end they're going to win

Kuwait? I think you meant during the Gulf War of 1991 although Israel did not participate in it. No way does Iraq have the best AA, America and Russia has the best AA systems in the world, Saddam's wasn't even close to the top.

You don't understand, the Chinese probably aren't horrible like the terrorists in Iraq. they're probably average, and an average skill force with TONS of men can over run EXCELLENT men with smaller numbers in comparison.

In terms of size to effectiveness ratio, I would say Israel's. Unlike say the UK that can rely on exceptional special units, or the US that can rely on sheer size and technological advances, every single element of Israel's military has to be awesome, simply because their country would be invaded in a SECOND if the military collapsed. usually the one with the most soldiers win. look at ww2 germany had all the advanced tanks, weapons etc. russia with its average weapons won just by force alone ( plus the weather conditions)crusher2002000

Don't ever think that the average German infantrymen was an elite SS trooper....

China's Second Artillery Corps has over 1000 ballestic missiles and 70% of them can be nuclear tipped and thus China CAN retaliate. You will need a lot more than just bombs to defeat China, the country is huge. If America couldn't bomb Vietnam to submission, how can it bomb China which is like 30 times the size.

I realize that your an American.. I find that Americans areto proud of there military...Nothing bad though.. In my opinion I think Russia is stronger. And yes, I quite aware that communism failed. Half of my family is Ukrainian so I know about it..
