Whenever I talk to people about religion, they always ask me "what proof is there that god does exist?" Why do I need proof to say "I believe in god?"monkeytoes61If I told you I was Tom Hanks, you wouldn't believe me, unless I had proof. It's the same.
What makes more sense
Nothingness that made the universe
or
Nothingness that made God who made the Universe?
Seriously, I dunno myself:P

He's not asking why you don't believe in God, just why you try to deter him from his beliefs.
Well then counter them with "What proof is there that there ISNT a God?".
I happen to believe, and I wont stop just because we dont have proof.
Its all in your heart and mind. If people cant seem to believe, then thats there personal decision and I completely understand that, but just because they dont have evidence to proof God is real, they shouldnt say that He isnt because they also dont have evidence to disprove His existence.

There is no proof there is God, and there is no proof there isn't God. You just have to choose. That's pretty much the end to all religion discussions. Now, if only people would respect the opposite choice...

Thats what I was basically saying :PWhenever I talk to people about religion, they always ask me "what proof is there that god does exist?" Why do I need proof to say "I believe in god?"monkeytoes61
You shouldn't need any proof to believe in god.
However, if you're in a debate and you're trying to convince someone else that there is a god, you ought to have proof for that.
Depends. If religion is a personal matter for you, who cares? Proof? No proof? Pfft, none of my business why you believe what you do.
I don't concern myself with religion. If you do, that's fine and I have no problem with it. But the second you try to make that stuff MY business, that's when I start demanding proof.
That about sums it up.You don't need proof that you believe in God, you need proof when you claim you know he exists.

Well yea, anything I can touch, see, smell, or taste is real. Am I absolutely sure that there is God? No, of course not and I wont be so ignorant to say that its definate that He is real. I'd like to think that there is something waiting for me after I pass from this world, and not just an eternal silence. I'd like to think that I get to see my friend again, who passed away last August. Id like to think I'd see my Aunt Marg again. Id like to think that I'll have great things waiting for me when my life has ended in this plane, but Im not exactly sure if its true or not.If I told you I was an alien posting on GS from my spaceship, you would want proof, wouldn't you?
Some people believe that if they can touch it, feel it, smell it, or see it, that it's real. Anything else they would want concrete evidence to believe.

Please, do explain what evidence do you have to say that He doesnt exist? Im very eager to hear this [QUOTE="sarmini"][QUOTE="johnchan3"]because no god is existed in this world......johnchan3
human is just animal..... A kind of monkey... no doubt...
Evolution doesn't disprove the existence of a god. Who's to say that a god didn't create the first organisms from which everything else evolved? Who's to say that a god didn't start the Big Bang? Nothing along those lines can be proven. I'm not saying that there is a god, but it's completely impossible to disprove the existence of one.You do not need proof to believe in anything... it's all faith. Some, like myself, choose not to believe, but we should all (sadly, most don't) learn to respect each others beliefs.instantdeath999
We should respect each others beliefs as far as they don't affect others in a way they would consider harmful. Christianity is getting to that point in America.

Now see, theres my problem. I find it hard to believe, Im not saying that its absolutely impossible, but I find it hard to believe that we all used to pick bugs off each others back and throw feces at each other when we were angry with one another. Its possible, but I dont believe that. You dont have any proof that we used to be monkies, just like I dont have any proof to say that there is a definate God.Hey TC, did you just make this thread to see people make fools of themselves arguing back and forth?
Like with that thread "Things that shouldn't be discussed in online forums". If so, then I must say: BRILLIANT!!

Well, of course, there are boundries. Muslims killing Jews? That's not right, I don't care what religion you are. This site: godhatesamerica.com... that's not right, though I guess it is freedom of speech. By the way, that site was in a Heth Ledger discussion, which is how I became aware of it.

I hate those pricks and anyone who agree's with them. Seriously, protesting Heath Ledger's funeral just because he played a homosexual role in a fictional movie? WTF. And protesting soldiers funerals, who died for their freedom of speech, among numerous other rights, and theyre still being jerks?! Seriously, thats just pathetic. Obviously, anything we can see, touch, smell, and taste are real. But, since we can't do any of that with god, there has to be something else to prove to yourself that he exists. For example, if you're a Christian, you would see the universe itself as well as life itself as evidence of a creator. Some people wouldn't see it as evidence, but you as a Christian would because it makes sense to you. The real question is, do you want god to exist? If you don't, you'll reject any "evidence" that comes your way.

I dont see where Wal-Mart is taking this but yes, Ive been there. Atleast once a week. Have I ever shopped at a grocery store? No, afraid not. Im 16, my parents take care of that. And no, I dont use public restrooms no matter how bad, I think theyre disgusting. Im sorry but I dont see how any of that can be related to what monkies do.[QUOTE="instantdeath999"][QUOTE="SimpJee"][QUOTE="instantdeath999"]You do not need proof to believe in anything... it's all faith. Of course, if there is a hell, they will definitely burn... or I hope so. They condemn others to hell, though would God really want his followers to condemn others, when they should be bettering themselves? Some people don't deserve freedom of speech... I mean, the number one rule in Christianity is "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"... seems like they are doing the opposite. They could help people... nah, lets just criticize others. (and in case anyone missed it, I am only criticizing one church)

That statement is mistaken on a number of levels. Ever hear of hallucinations? Schizophrenia? Optical illusions? Whose to say that our senses don't decieve us on a regualr basis? Of course IF Hell exists. I got so wrapped up into my rant that I forgot to say "if" lol. Are they Christians though? Im just wondering. Im not a Christian, methodist (Although thats how I was raised), catholic, or jew. Im just... me. I just believe lol.I once walked into a public restroom. And there was poop on the ceiling right above the urinal.
Yes, on the ceiling.
POOP. ON. THE. CEILING.
It's quite clear what happened. Somebody THREW poop onto the ceiling (possibly mixing it with something in order to get it to stick better) in the hopes that someone would walk up to the urinal and have a piece of poop fall on top of his head.
