Why do you hate twilight?

And if not why do you like it? I hate it because it is demeaning to women in a way because the main character is shallow and willing to give up everything to be wit a sprakly vampire who stalks her.

I do think that it probably serves its purpose to its audience, of which very few OT users fit into, so perhaps some of the hate is unjustified.

this!!! i mean she could've said anything like when he goes into the sunlight he feels a burning sensation all over his skin which makes him go beserk and attack ppl for no reason, but no she had to make him sparkle so that girls could fantisize about being in love with a vampire. aghhhh it makes me sick *goes out to throw up*.

Because it is one of the most poorly written pieces of fiction from the last 100 years and its garnering popularity as if it somehow deserves it. Even as a romance its sillier than a Harlequin romance novel. The main female protagonist has no character-defining flaws and the main male protagonist completely destroys the entire vampire fiction established since the days of Bram Stoker.

The first rule of vampires: They can NOT go out in sunlight, or they will disintegrate. What does he do? He sparkles in the sunlight.

I don't hate it, that would be stupid. I have enough problems, theres no reason to rage over a bad book series.

But the reason I dislike it is because it sucks. I don't know how else to put it. The plot holds no substance whatsoever. If the vampires and characters were not constantly described as attractive, the story would hold NO purpose. Its basically book porn.

The characters are completely unrealistc and without flaw. Who are the greatest characters of fiction? The ones with big, obvious, glaring flaws.

I can't connect with the characters, because they're supposed to represent everything that is good about them. Even the fact that Edward wants to eat his girlfriend is used as a tool to drive the sexual characteristics of his personality.

Unlike so many other people who bash it simply because it's popular, I actually gave both the movie and the book a chance. I didn't hate either but I didn't like them by any stretch of the imagination. The movie was very, very poorly acted, for the most part. And seeing as the source material is poorly written, the script is fairly bad.

The book just felt drawn out, to me. And like I mentioned earlier, it's poorly written.

2. Some teens read it, buy the merchandise and think they are goth, dark and "different"but are nothing more than trendy tools.

Misogynistic, poorly written, and shallow characters.

The books are poorly written and the characters (except for Jacob Black ;)) are annoying, self-centered, and whiny. Edward is overprotective and Bella is stupid and shallow. The love story does not hold my interest because it's very sappy, cliche, and obnoxious.t3hrubikscube

I liked Bellas dad and Jacob Black in the movie, because they acted like people.

And yes, I have sat through the WHOLE movie. I was forced to go because my brother wanted to go for his birthday.

Honest to God. My BROTHER. My mother made me sit through it because it was "a great idea for a birthday gift".

I did faze out of consciousness about half way through for about 15 minutes, but unfortunately I didn't stay comatose.

That is a very strange picture, where did you find it? Someone sent me some let the right one in fanfiction that was extremely disturbing to say the least.

1) It took the vampire schematic and practically destroyed it (sparkling, that entire mirror scene at the end).

2) Bella is the stupidest character ever, and she probably set feminism back another 400 years.

3) It is not entertaining at all.

I take it its 30 Days of Night, a vampire flick about a town being submerged by complete night for an entire month while vampires kill everyone.

It was a good movie, I'm excited for the sequel. The vampires in that movie were also bat**** crazy.

It gets so much more fame than other way better books. Also it sucks.

Because Im not a 15 yr old girl.

But for some reason my 34yr old wife has read these stupid books at least 3 times each and has to tell me all about it which makes me hate them.

Vampires CANT go out in the light without consequences. PERIOD. Not little sparkles, it kills them. Blade series had them in sunblock for a moment or two but other than that sunlight is their greatest weakness.

Other things like the blood lust being an addiction not a necessity and the Wolves not needing the full moon are up there too.

The defense of the Twilight fans is that not every vampire story is the same, and the "Dont believe what you see in the movies" mentality is in a lot of the incarnations. But my problem is that you have to stick with the main ones.

It would be like having Lepracauns that arent Irish, short, or green.

Because it sucks and is demeaning to vampires.

It has a gang rape scene with the bullies and eli, and a bizzare love story with that gym teacher and oskar. Also it has blade in it who kills everyone at the end for no reason.

I hate the movies because Let the right one in was released at a similar time and has twice the score at Rotten Tomatoes, and made one hell of alot less money. I'm going to be honest and say that i haven't watched twilight because it is designed for 13 year old girls. It's just a shame such a mediocre film gets so much attention and a masterpiece like LTROI gets ignored. impl0sion

It is quite a shame. I saw let the right one in a couple of times in theaters when it first came out and I have the Blu Ray. Fantastic film and I love the soundtrack.
