Dunno, my friend sent it to me last night. Like disturbing how?[QUOTE="AAllxxjjnn"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"]
That is a very strange picture, where did you find it? Someone sent me some let the right one in fanfiction that was extremely disturbing to say the least.

It has a gang rape scene with the bullies and eli, and a bizzare love story with that gym teacher and oskar. Also it has blade in it who kills everyone at the end for no reason.
That sounds almost as bad as the DBZ/Anne Frank crossover fan fiction :?Oh man... your GF has infected you with the Twilight simplex virus hasn't she!? I'm sorry, but we're going to have to purge you with fire and salt before you turn into one of THEM, the ghastly beings of the night that only emerge from the shadows to feast on the flesh of hawties.... Yes, I'm talking about a Twilight fan :o Only watched because she made me. It was ok, dont remember much else. Was busy doing other things :P (doing nothing dirty though) I don't wanna be rude or snooty... but at any point during "that", did you hear the name Edward? Because, and I hate to break it to ya, the Twilight simplex virus severely affects the brain's ability to interpret information, and can often cause people to mistake people for other people :o (jokes, quite clearly :P)[QUOTE="Setsa"][QUOTE="clyde46"] The movie was ok. Havent read the books.clyde46
i dont hate the movie infact i love it. It is so amazingly bad that it's a comedy. I legit laughed more in this movie then any Judd appatow movie. (i was also dragged to see it by some girls). The books i hate because they have zero literary merit. Everyone is like "it's good to see young girls reading" but reading is not necessarily good. these books are the equivalent of day time soap opera's, but with a terribly morbid twist. Im so suprised parents allow their childeren to read such utter trash. If you want a good romance read Brideshead revisited, Wuthering Heights, pride and prejudice, for whom the bell tolls, these are literary masterpieces, but are romances that young girls can read.

That sounds almost as bad as the DBZ/Anne Frank crossover fan fiction :?Oh wow that sounds really bad. I forgot to mention that near the end of the fanfiction there is a gross sex scene between oskar and eli where oskar is about 80 and blade is there too with Predator. I wish I was kidding.
Bella... Her only flaw is being clumsy, over the top clumsy. And it is a romantic book, you hadn't expected her to keep the part about Vampires not being able to go out in the sunlight?Because it is one of the most poorly written pieces of fiction from the last 100 years and its garnering popularity as if it somehow deserves it. Even as a romance its sillier than a Harlequin romance novel. The main female protagonist has no character-defining flaws and the main male protagonist completely destroys the entire vampire fiction established since the days of Bram Stoker.

The first rule of vampires: They can NOT go out in sunlight, or they will disintegrate. What does he do? He sparkles in the sunlight.

...that REALLY is beyond words. I really hope you are lying about that "I wish i was kidding part". Predator and Blade? Who thinks this kind of **** up?The characters are as shallow and undeveloped as possible, the Mormon message is absurd (abstinence? Are you ****ing kidding me?) the premise is laughable, the execution is a nightmare ("I punched the door in anger"), the ending is holy freaking hellishly horrible, both in terms of what happens and how it is written, its readers are unjustly obsessed with Edward (a man that does not, can not, and will not ever exist in the real world due to how "perfect" he is) and the books are sexist (I'm not saying Meyer is sexist or even that she intended the sexist message, but there it is).
Or, and sparkly vampires and pedo werewolves.

I think it came from a fanfiction site somewhere. The story ended with blade killing eli and oskar then having sex with predator for a while until they are both killed by the goonies who have their way with all the dead bodies then eat them and fly away with jetpacks. Again I really wish I was kidding here.

Because it turned such a wonderful thing, "vampires", into a teenage-girl-romance-movie/novel.
Edit: I didn't know vampires could go out in the sunlight either >_>

The vampire mythology has changed over the years. Not saying Twilight's is good....just that things do change. Anyway, I think only the young girls are interested in it and because they like the dude playing the vampire.LJS9502_basic
Curious Q film guy....this is your second discussion on Twilight? Any reason?
LJS9502_basic
Well I just got a job at a bookstore and the series is brought up alot by customers and one of my co workers and I had a discussion about the series and how it can be considered offensive to women since the main girl is pretty much a useless tool with no life ambitions. Thats probably why.
Vampires have been a romantic figure for some time now. Not sure why..... twilight might be turning this generation of preteen girls into "fangbangers" i dont care for the film or the book whatsoever, its an overrated piece of garbage imo.[QUOTE="cyberdarkkid"]Because it turned such a wonderful thing, "vampires", into a teenage-girl-romance-movie/novel.LJS9502_basic

I know very little about the series and intend to let this state of affairs continue. It seems like a waste of a perfectly good vampire though.

Vampires have always been a vaguely sexual creature ever since Bram Stoker wrote dracula. The book was almost a metaphor for the repressed sexuality of the time. It evolved from that into making vampires more tragic in films like the remake of Nosferatu. They are seen as tragic in some films because they can live forever but can never live a normal life and are forced to live off blood to survive. Let the right one in both the book and film do the tragic vampire character really well.
This. No reason to hate what I never saw.Er I don't hate it. I don't pay attention to it.:|

I'm actually one of the few people who likes twilight on this site. I like it because I thought it was a different twist to a love story. However, I will admit that the story itself isn't very deep or complex and that there are definately many better books to be read than this series.
In addressing LJ's point, he is correct.
Vampires were originally more than able to go in the daylight and survive. Infact, they were not pale. The original belief in Vampirism, back when if you were gay or born with an 11th toe, they burned you at the stake as an infidel, vampires were portrayed as the exact opposite of what they are by Bram Stoker.
They were darkskinned and more than able to travel in sunlight.
