Personally I think he's currently doing a great job. However, I can't predict how he will perform over the next few years, nor can I predict who is running mate will be. So, for now, I'm undecided. :)He hasn't even been in office for a year yet, how could I know. I voted for him, but if he screws up I won't vote for him again. Who blindly votes?

well, i'm saying if he just continues what he is doing now.
[QUOTE="Pirate700"]I'm not trying to start an argument, but, how so? Calling his policies "nuts" is, IMO, excessive, particularly with no reasons given. I think his ideas he tries to get passed border on absurd. His views on what's right for this country and how to "fix" it are just the same, IMO. If you need more than that, go check out one of the other 100 Obama threads from this week. :)Hell frickin' no. I wouldn't vote for a Dem anyway but the guy's nuts in terms of his policies.
:)Eddie5vs1
Undecided, currently I support Obama but it is too early to make that decision, the 2012 elections will be the first time I will be able to vote for a president.
[QUOTE="Pirate700"]I'm not trying to start an argument, but, how so? Calling his policies "nuts" is, IMO, excessive, particularly with no reasons given. Well, clearly it's not nuts to refuse to vote for a Dem, so Pirate's "nuts baseline" is far skewed from the norm.Hell frickin' no. I wouldn't vote for a Dem anyway but the guy's nuts in terms of his policies.

That is way too far away to be deciding that now. That is, if you truly care about who your leader is and if you aren't just another "Vote for your party" drone.guynamedbillyI guess I'm a drone along with 90% of the country. It doesn't make you a drone to always vote for your party. If you agreed with the other side you wouldn't be with a party. :|
The short term does not matter, it is only the long term that matters, both in business and in politics. In business you have the shareholders who force companies to make shortsighted decisions in the short term to boost share price but overall stunt the growth of the business. Thank goodness presidents get some time to do something and can't get ousted whenever people feel like it or we'd have a new president every few months, The shortsightedness and ignorance of people make me sick.

If you need more than that, go check out one of the other 100 Obama threads from this week. :)That's kind of a vague statement. Could you give some examples? I will say that his 'wanting American children to have a better education by longing the school year/days' is kind of hypocritical. What I mean is, he said that he wants American children to be as educated as other countries around the globe. When the debate was about health care, he didn't make it like other countries around the world (universal health care or similar). Also, instead of longer days, or an extended school year, why not make the quality of general education better?[QUOTE="Eddie5vs1"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]

I don't know. I'll have to know who is running in 2012. I would never vote for a republican candidate, though.

Good, I hope you get out and vote for which ever candidate you support. I'm always surprised by how few Americans take the time to vote.Undecided, currently I support Obama but it is too early to make that decision, the 2012 elections will be the first time I will be able to vote for a president.

Carefull. According to Guynamedbilly, that makes one a drone. Indeed. :|[QUOTE="TM_Darkside"]

Nope, pushing too many failed policies.
Exactly. When the own guy's party doesn't agree with half his policies there is something horribly wrong with his ideas. Yeah, because we know how well things turn out when the Senate and House go along with whatever the president says.....Carefull. I rarely agree with either of the major parties.
It depends. I don't think that what has and is trying to do are the right things for the country but if in 3 more years he turns out to be correct and he's running against, say, Sarah Palin I would vote for him. Although I really hope the republican party isn't dumb enough to throw her enough support to let her make it to the primaries. Although lately the republicans have been almost flaunting stupidity.
No, I'm already unsatisfied with his work thus far but I'm willing to consider down the line when this "It's Bush's economy" skit runs dry.
Thankfully his own party which controlls everything currently doesn't think so. I'm unsure what the "" is for. That's what checks and balances are for. And in case you forgot, specifically if you're talking about universal health care, insurance lobbyists spend a ton of money on Capitol Hill making sure this doesn't pass.[QUOTE="Eddie5vs1"]Ok, to each his own. In all honesty its a little too early to give him a grade on his performance, but I will say that so far he hasn't been anything great. Too me instead of trying to fix issues he is trying reinvent the wheel and at this current time trying to reinvent the wheel is pretty stupid considering there is absolutely no money to support the little things, let alone a revamped health system. He will look good to needy people, but the working people he looks like a fool.

Um...pretty much the only reason he was elected was because of people blindly voting either because:
A. He was a black man
or
B. He wasn't Republican
There were 22 kids out of 25 in my government course in highschool, just as an example, that voted for Obama. When the 2 of us that Voted McCain asked the 22 why they did...
well...not a single one could explain nor really NAME a policy of Obama's that would ACTUALLY work outside of theory and not a single one of them could actually come up with a legitimate reason why he was better than any other candidate.
