It depends on how good his first term is.

[QUOTE="Eddie5vs1"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]I think his ideas he tries to get passed border on absurd. His views on what's right for this country and how to "fix" it are just the same, IMO. If you need more than that, go check out one of the other 100 Obama threads from this week. :)

Pirate700

[QUOTE="Eddie5vs1"]Ok, to each his own. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally I think he's spot onPirate700

Thankfully his own party which controlls everything currently doesn't think so.

And Bush was so different? Oh wait, Bush was AMAZING. Whether it'd be a completely unnecessary, high budget war, or putting us into this freakin ditch... which Obama has done a good job of digging us out of recently.

2012 is too far away at this point, but who says he'll even be the nominee? I mean he most likely will be, but say things don't improve by 2012 and his approval rating continues to dip, you know very good and well that Hillary would mount another Presidential bid.

Remember, Ted Kennedy ran against President Carter.

The big difference is that Kennedy wasn't a member of the Carter administration. If Hillary was still in the senate, I could see her running in 2012, but there's no chance in hell that she runs against Obama now.

Depends on his opponent, but if he keeps his stance on abortion then most likely not.

Can't vote, I'm not a citizen of the US of A.

I just hope that there isn't an obscene amount of TV coverage in Australia for it next time ...

First off we don't know if he'll seek a second term. The country, under his policies, could deteriorate and he may decide to not seek re-election. There also could be a Republican or Third Party candidate whom I agree more with and decide to vote for.

To sum things up, it's way too early to even be discussing this.

Big negative on that. I will be voting on a constitutionalist or an actual statesman (Ron Paul if he happens to run again) just not a politician. Career politicians are a serious problem.

Too early too tell -- also depends on his policies and what he does in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Also depends on who is running against him in 2012.

No. Even if he changed his policies, at this point, he's already messed up with the stimulus bill, so there's no need to reward him for a vote either way.

No, but you did find it amusing that Obama's party is disagreeing with him. I think GodofBigMacs was suggesting that a balance of power isn't necessarily a bad thing. ;)

It's just annoying when people still go reaching to try and bash Bush. It doesn't matter if you think he's was great, sucked or anything in between. Obama is in power now and we need to start judging him. Not Bush.

Nope, I didn't vote for him the first time, but he did win and I gave him the chance. He lost any chance of me ever voting for him when he passed that stimulas bill and even more reason on how he is handling war and healthcare. He sucks IMO.

Yes I will vote for him. I think he's doing a fine job considering the last eight years of crap our country has endured. He is trying to heal America, and that's more than I can say for his opponents.

I'll be old enough and it really depends. Honestly I wasn't to big on McCain, and Sarah Palin was just an embressment. But not exactly a fan of Obama eithers though. Basically you could say it depends on who's running and my thoughts on Obama in 2012. However I can tell you that if Sarah Palin gets nominated, lol i'd vote Obama

Probably. I voted for him in last time, but we'll see what happens. I won't vote for Romney, Huckabee or Palin if they are the GOP candidates though.

I agree her being in his administration makes it harder, but if his approval ratings are down in the 30s (that's a big if), I still think she would give it a go. I wouldn't be surprised if she puts herself in a place where she strongly disagrees with the President on many foreign policy issues just so she can resign as Secretary of State. IMO, Hillary Clinton will do anything to be President, and I don't doubt for a second that she feels like she was robbed.

But again, I don't think she will do it unless a lot of big ifs happens.

He hasn't even been in office for a year yet, how could I know. I voted for him, but if he screws up I won't vote for him again. Who blindly votes?

grenadexjumpr

Um...pretty much the only reason he was elected was because of people blindly voting either because:

A. He was a black man

or

B. He wasn't Republican

There were 22 kids out of 25 in my government course in highschool, just as an example, that voted for Obama. When the 2 of us that Voted McCain asked the 22 why they did...

well...not a single one could explain nor really NAME a policy of Obama's that would ACTUALLY work outside of theory and not a single one of them could actually come up with a legitimate reason why he was better than any other candidate.

I guess so. Truthfully, blind votes were the main reason he was elected. Dah well....

I will be voting in my first presidential election that year, (missed it by only a little this last one) and I can say with utmost certainty that he will not get my vote. I only hope his successor can clean up his mess.

Even more so on the other side of the fence. Both sides are guilty of blind voting. So what? That's the American political system.

Blind votes are always a factor. Plenty of people like Obama's policies enough to vote for him solely for that reason, and not because of his race or his party.

Assuming no major events happen that are handled badly, I might if the economy is strong and if the middle class is not or will not be fined/taxed for not having health insurance. It also depends on the Republican nomination and if the Republican party has gotten their act together. I would easily vote for the McCain of 2000 (who was completely different from the McCain of 2008).

It really depends on who the Republican candidate is (and how Obama does)... but as of now, looking at the possible candidates (Huckabee, Palin, Jindal, etc.) I'd say there's a very, very good chance I'll vote for Obama.
