[QUOTE="MetalGear_Ninty"][QUOTE="Theokhoth"] I know. . . that's what I said as well.:|
I did say, however, that hating an entire group of people constitutes the same reasoning as racism, and that fundamentally the two are not that much different from eachother. You're just born with one (race).
Don't put words in my mouth.
Theokhoth
People seem to think that race can be equated to religion, when it is simply not true.Somebodies race doesn't tell you anything about somebody else, apart from physical appearance, whilst, someones religion tells you their fundamental beliefs in life.
Not necessarily. For example, if you had just met me and I told you I was a Christian, would you believe I was also gay ? Probably not, yet *snaps fingers* here we are!
There's also the denominational factor. Yes, you're a Christian/Muslim/Jew/whatever, but what denomination/sect/sub-group? They all believe different things.
THEN we have the issue of whether or not you're a practising xyz.
But I see your overall point.
In general though, whether you are indeed a theist, agnostic, atheist etc. and you're of a particular age and intelligence, then I still think it tells a lot about a person.With theism, a person's whole philosophical, moral and social perspective is moulded by that one concept of 'God'. But you're right that it varies on religious denominations.
In truth, there isn't one God, but 6 billion in the mind of every human on this planet. But I suppose you wouldn't agree with that. :P
