I have a great idea! It's simple: if you find the page offensive, don't look at it.

Funky_Llama

I'll agree with this.. It's pretty easy to look away.

What were Theokhoth and LJS arguing over? I can't be bothered to go back and check. :P

[QUOTE="MetalGear_Ninty"][QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]Yeah... those double standards annoy me. We should all decide to mock everyone or no one. I vote for everyone. :PFunky_Llama

Completely different; posting pictures of Muhammed is offensive to Muslims -- the same cannot be said for Jesus and Christians. :|

I'm talking more in the general sense of the touchy-feely treatment that Islam gets. Besides... Jesus gets mocked in ways that Muhammad does not, regardless of the crap about not depicting Muhammad.

Christians themselves mock jesus so what are you talking about?

*facepalm*

That is only because He worried that people would start worshipping him rather than God. I think that is quite respectful if you ask me.

I'm actually nothing cuz I don't really believe that God is a good guy. And what does a persons faith have to do with being related to him or not?

Are you related to Muhammad, because any person related to him should know the answer. Ali or Abu Bakr?

You dont know what you are talking about.

If you are related to muhammad than you are called a "syed".Your islamic sect has nothing to do with it.

Why is it that in the Conan Universe, no one calls double standards the fact that you are allowed to pray for Mitra but not for Crom? That's because they are different religions, not double standards.

every religion "promotes" peace. i look at what followers actually do.

i'm not saying that every muslim is bad, or even that the religion is bad. every religion can be good if followed properly.

but, there are people that hate muslims, and quite frankly how intolerant and backwards muslim society is just escapes me.

Funky_Llama

what do you mean by backwords?

Outdated... stuck in the past... not progressive... the meaning is obvious.

Care to explain?:|

Wait, you go on a forum on an American site, where the majority of the users are either Atheists or moderate Christians (with some exceptions), and tell them that nobody should be allowed to publish images of muhammed, not even objective encyclopedias, and you expect understanding?

There's something seriously wrong with your analysis of the recievers of your message.

Look, I hated the very offensive cartoons from the Muhammed crisis, but a restriction of ever showing pictures of muhammed, not even in historical observations, well it just does not feel right. You're expecting everyone to follow the laws of your religion, but if one were to respect the laws of all religions, life would be very unrewarding, I tell you.

[QUOTE="-Y2J-"]firstly, those are interpretations of what muhammed(pbuh) might have looked like, they not accurate, secondly chrisitans make fun of jessus(pbuh) themselves. if a muslim ever makes fun of jesus(pbuh) this is wrong and tell them it's our prophet aswell.Funky_Llama

He's our prophet as well and no muslim makes fun of jesus.

But regardless christians themselves make fun of jesus so who would they complain anyways.

Look at the passion of christ LOL whereas muhammad was only shown in first person with no voice acting in the movie on Islam.

Christians dont even have any respect for their own God,why should anyone bother about their feelings!!

I daresay that quite a large proportion of the Christian community are really quite fond of God. >_>

I am pretty sure almost every christian who watches movies watched the passion of the chirst right?

And wait isnt the movie itself made by christians?Really that's the respect christians have for their God?

The bottom line is this.

If someone is not a Muslim, they have no obligation whatsoever to obey or follow the Muslim beliefs.  It's really that ******* simple.

Your using Mel Gibson as the average christian? I'm not religious myself, so I can not judge. But I can assure you, there are some very god fearing christias out there. Plenty of extremists too... On the other side, I know there are plenty of moderate muslims out there...

You have no right to tell anyone what do do, least of all Wikipedia. To be honest, I think Islam is a terrible influence on the world and Muslim countries are usually backwards and no one has any right to tell me that I cannot draw a picture and say 'this is Muhammad'

Muhammad went through alot of cruel pain as well.

And regardless many "ordinary" people every day suffer more brutal deaths than jesus so there's no big deal about it....

And lastly you dont have to show how painfull it was for him in a movie,it's obvious by reading up on it....

[QUOTE="Thinker_reborn"]Well I didnt watch the whole movie as jesus is our prophet as well.

I just watched it for a few mins and it was jesus brutally wounded and all.Portraying your God/prophet in that shape is a shame indeed....

Is muhammad drawn naked? No? Ok thanks.
And if her face is photo-shopped I don't see how this presents any sort of problem.

Obviously her face wont be photo shopped.Duh!!

" For our sins"?Lol anyways that's not for this topic.

Muhammad went through alot of cruel pain as well.

And regardless many "ordinary" people every day suffer more brutal deaths than jesus so there's no big deal about it....

And lastly you dont have to show how painfull it was for him in a movie,it's obvious by reading up on it....

Thinker_reborn

You kinda do if you want it to have any meaning relating to christianity...

If it is against your belief, why did you watch it in the first place? You don't even respect your very own beliefs, why should we respect them?

Yeah you already stated this and I didn't say otherwise. Great rebuttal.

[QUOTE="swizz-the-gamer"][QUOTE="Thinker_reborn"]Keep telling yourself that...

And it's not just one movie anyways.

Thinker_reborn

It's to show the pain and suffering Jesus went through for our sins...

I'm not a christian, i'm an atheist. That is what the movie is supposed to do. Interesting how you think it's okay to insult other religions but it's not okay to insult yours?
