Problem I am having is that the atmosphere in this game isnt particulary good either. I just couldnt get immersed with enemies that take 20-30 hits to kill you, awful animations, lack of penalty for dying, bugs and stagnant world.

In fact, I would argue that writing and the investigation quests are the only thing this game has going for it. I really don't see why they made it an mmo, because it is a terrible mmo. Should have been an adventure game.

I guess that depends on each person. To me the atmosphere, graphics and story-telling is very immersive. I agree the combat and animations are not top notch, but very few MMOs have great animations.

Oh, and another thing that hurts my immersion is those get out of the white box/circle moves. They just feel forced, and are nowhere near as well implemented as those in Guild Wars 2 (which is better in nearly every aspect).

Well, it's an MMO, so it has to have some type of MMO technical things in it. If u want full immersion then you need to play a Single Player game....hahhahahaha. I really hope I get into GW2 when it launches, the 2 Betas I played really let me down.

Don't get me wrong, despite my recent negativity, I DO Like TSW, I just dont like it's mmo elements, and I feel it could have been so much more if it had been a single player game. Just like SWTOR should have been an SP game as well.

The investigation quests are some of the most fun I have had in a long while... mmo or not.

Edit: Oh and some main story missions are very well done as well.

Yes, I can agree on that.

Well, to have more fun, forget it's an MMO (like I did with SWTOR). Play it like a Single Player game with Online Co-Op :)

PS: and let's be fair, it's been out 2-3 weeks. I reckon if the devs keep working on it, this MMO 6-12 months down the track will be even better, specially if they deliver on their promise to continue forward with all that story content.

Negative = Bugs, Stale controls, PvP and Average Combat

Positives = Atmosphere, Setting, Upgrade system and writing are all fantastic (its also fun)

Played a bunch of it over the weekend at my friends place, I had fun and its not your typical 'same same' mmo that we usually get, but it definatly does have a handful of issues (it just depends on teh person how much the negative aspects effect all the good things it does). I really wish that the combat and controls were better though (and less bugs). It has some innovative ideas and I wish more mmos would try being unique and innovative instead of doing the same thing over and over.

Anyways, just my two cents having spent about 10-15 hours on the game. If things improve and more content added I could see myself definatly buying this game and enjoying it for a good while. Am I the only one that has had more fun in the limited time they have played this game then the GW2 beta? From strictly a FUN FACTOR aspect this has been more enjoyable. Now I know GW2 is not finished and we have only played a beta, but still, I was not expecting TSW to be more enjoyable then GW2, color me impressed Funcom.
