Nice logo! I really need to rake up some cash to get better logos and add more layers for my one.

i have to say so far the sp campaign is great, but i was disappointed when it comes to visuals & AI... Does it have something to do with my GPU? i think its more than enough to handle this game.. (btw i do have all visual settings set at max)

The customisation is awesome.

It's a bit of a shame that the MP is not as gritty and violent as WaW... and that the dogs are now a 11 killstreak. I love the dogs. I can't understand why people hate them in WaW.

The RC car is extremely fun and almost makes up for the lack of dogs:P

I feel the game too slow for my tastes, but still will play until unlock all the stuff.

The player movement is sluggish, the sprint fades really fast ant the fall damage encourages you to not use shortcuts in your displacements; this, and the fat that all weapons kill in 1-3 shots (almost insta-kills) encourages players to camp, and once the people unlock the claymores there is not reason to move your back from the wall and search to figure what the hell is out there. Recharging, throwing grenades and aiming -even with iron sights- are also slow, so is not a surprise that most of people just hide behind a cover and calmly waits their next casualties.

I did. The fast reload perk and the duct taped dual magazines attachment works, but the sprinter perks ads nothing to the pace, too bit to count, and changes nothing about the people predisposition to snipe. Is like a landscape of snipers and claymores what is displayed behind my eyes.

Wierd, this is one reason why I like it, its slower paced which makes it somewhat more strategic then the last few cod games.

Modern Warfare2 felt like I had to have ADD to enjoy it, this one though just seems perfectly paced in teh online department for my personal taste. I mean sure its not ARMA2 level of slow or realistic, but its a hue step up imo frmo MW2. Also I dont notice anymore sniping or claymores then there was in MW2 or COD4. I mean sure its got the COD feel to it, but it just feels much mroe suited to my liking now. I dont like super fast shooters unless its quake or unreal to be honest.

Can't seem to get enough of Hardcore Search n Destroy and Capture the flag on some of these maps, just awesome.

For the people experiencing lag in the MP of BO this can be fixed by yourself until there is patch.

To get rid of the lag go to settings in STEAm, then INGAME and there disable steam community.

If you have done this the lag still isn't gone completely but at least it's playable until treyarch comes with a fix :)

Well I hated Modern Warfare2 and I am having a blast with Black Ops.

Tried the game on 5 computers so far.... only the two dual core systems seem to have the stuttering, could be coincidence donno. Will be interesting to see why some are having issues and others not.

A couple of questions: what is the highest level you can reach, 55? And once you reach the top, you must change to prestige rank and lost your unlocks or you can avoid the change to prestige? I'll not keep playing once max the initial career if I lose all my stuff, seems stupid.

Max level is 50. Prestige is an option. There are 15 prestige levels. Everything except the emblems is reset, but you gain new custom cIass slots, leaderboards, playlists, tatoos, tags and - most importantly - golden camouflage!

I enjoy leveling up and buying stuff, so I'll prestige a couple of times for sure.

I'm prestiging for the golden guns, for sure. :D

Anyone want to explain to me why Black Ops is $60? PC games are suppose to be cheaper due to the fact that companies don't have to pay to put thier game on a certain platform.

I played Army of Two and spent all my money on gold plating, a gold shield attachment for my machinegun and a gold shotgun. Which was attached to my machinegun. And I also bought a gold rocket launcher, which may or may not be diamond-encrusted.

I really hope that they fix the stuttering issues on PC soon. I tried some of the console fixes, and they worked a bit but I still have the problems of lining a guy up in my sights, about to fire, then FREEZE, then I'm dead. At least it is playable, had a couple of good rounds yesterday. I think I will stick to zombie mode until a fix is out though. I have no problems there and it's fun as.

Looks like these frame rate and stuttering issues differ from PC to PC. I am getting stuttering in multiplayer or lag, but not with single player. The first time I tried joining a match in Zombie Mode, it froze and I had to shut down Black Ops. I couldn't even shut it down properly actually, even using Device Manager. At the moment, I'm still working on the campaign so the MP isn't my major concern. I expect a patch to fix all the issues concerning SP and MP though. I can't believe they didn't notice the stuttering. Or more like, they did notice it but, deadlines..heh. Still a great SP experience though. I'm loving it.Elann2008

This is what happens when you have fail in house beta testing for PC games as not all PCs are the same. If they had a closed beta at the least, there would have been a wide variety of machines running it so these problems could have been noticed before release. I'm not to sure what the problem is. Some people are saying that it's gameservers.com and having a rate of 5k instead of 25k. Other things I see is that it is some kind of memory leak/game bug that is causing this so can only be fixed by treyarch. Will have to wait and see. Hopefully I won't be waiting long.

No no, a lot of people are having serious stuttering and lag issues. The game runs like absolute garbage for a lot of people. Here's JD_2020's (Activision community manager) response on the matter thus far:

So you can tell it's really high priority when he makes light of it with twitter tags.

Sooo what's the general consensus on this game? Does it make up for MW2?

I was actually hoping this was pretty much going to be MW2 but with tons of new stuff and dedicated servers. It feels VERY different from MW2, and I'm not sure I really like it. CoD games have always had really amazing gunplay, including Treyarch's last effort, but this... eh. Also I can't judge it properly right now since the game doesn't exactly run smooth at all.

Most people I know are having no trouble. Treyarch said they're working ona patch though, right? I heard they were trying to fix this ASAP.

Also, I think this is much better than MW2. By far. In my opinion, success!

It's playable for me, but still annoying. Make sure you turn off Steam Cloud, and edit these parts of the config:

r_multiGpu 0

r_multithreaded_device 1

For a single GPU and multicore CPU system respectively. Also you can try

/cl_maxpackets "100"

My friend and I have the game running ok.. far from ideal but it works. Another friend of ours supposedly had no issues. It's so strange.

My Steam version works just fine. But, of course, I know that's not the way for everyone, but as you can see, my system is not top of the line by any standards!

I'm still at a loss as to why you are all having these issues - I have yet to experience anything. The game runs great for me, over 60 FPS at all times. Hopefully Treyarch gets a fix out soon. :(

I went ahead and got the steam version, it is almost done downloading now, I sure it will get patched, I have halo reach MP I am playing ATM, so I dont care if all I can play is SP right now. Cod4 pc still had a ton of players when I was playing 2 months ago, I hope this will be the same on PC as well.

I am getting really bad FPS, If I turn everything up, or turn everything down it is the same goes from 80 down to 15 looking around. i should have done more research. E8400 3.2 ghz, gtx285 ocx and 4 gigs ram vista 64, the game runs worse then crysis and dosent look as good :|

Seems they released a server side fix that has improved some of the lag on the servers. Still hasn't really helped me all that much. Hopefully the patch that fixes the stuttering will be out soon.

In the meantime I will play some zombies or Zork (I'm hoping there are maybe some more easter egg/mini games hidden around the place).

thats good news. Hopefully it addresses the performance issues on the PC version. Just got the game installed and it stutters terribly in SP and a bit in MP. No rush to play it though, game isn't going anywhere.

I remember when I got WaW it didn't even start until I had done a bunch of stuff.

I know a fix will come for this game, but right it is unplayable. I refuse to play a game that jumps from 80 fps to 17 fps just by turning in a circle, ) **** GS any of you who think they are not bought off by big name companys and games, Cod series is one of the biggers, you are crazy. They docked NV for bugs well, at least it was playable. Dont for a sec try and say it my comp, do a quick search, there are people with quad core, gtx 480, 6 gis or ram rigs having the same problems, and to top it off, with everything turned all the way up the game dosent even look that good, should have got the 360 version. *kicks self in own ass*
