Will I be able to run this game in playable fps? or if possible, maxed out? enlighten me please. I'm playing MW1 w/ no problems.

Hey guys, I just found a secret in the game where at the main menu you can break out of your chair.

What I did was that in the main menu, I looked down at my arms and mashed E and SPACE. Then there's an interactable computer in the room. Once you go on it, type DOA and it lets you unlock the Dead Ops Arcade.

This is what happens when you have fail in house beta testing for PC games as not all PCs are the same. If they had a closed beta at the least, there would have been a wide variety of machines running it so these problems could have been noticed before release. I'm not to sure what the problem is. Some people are saying that it's gameservers.com and having a rate of 5k instead of 25k. Other things I see is that it is some kind of memory leak/game bug that is causing this so can only be fixed by treyarch. Will have to wait and see. Hopefully I won't be waiting long.

Is laggy; even at over 60 fps the game doesn't performs smooth in the mp. I blame netcode or Steam maybe.

OK. I have fixed my own stuttering issues experienced since launch day. My system specs are:

Nvidia 690i SLI Mobo

Q9550@ 3.4ghz

EVGA GTX 460 768mb @stock

8 gigs of PC6400 ram

Seagate 1 TB HD 7200rpm

Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit

I spent all day yesterday forcing myself to play the game allthe way thru. My PC hiteched from the opening menu until the very end. Extreme fluctuations of FPS almost constantly. It was painful but I'm a COD fanatic. I have every single COD installed on my PC right now and play all of them till this day. Like all of you I have been waiting on a patch to fix these issues, bit I decided one last time to screw around with my settings and config. I booted up BO and decided to max out all of my graphics settings and just see what would happen. Heck...been getting stutter no matter what so might as well runs 16AA and the highest res I can.

I have a Sony GDM 520K Artisan CRT that is just outstanding in every way for my FPS addiction. It maxes out at 2048x1536@85hz. So I set the res at max, selected 16aa in the menu along but not the the Nvidia CP. Maxed out the anisotropic filtering and got in game. With Fraps running the whole time I was surprised to see my FPS stay within a stable 70-80fps with an occasional tick down or up here and there. I immediately noticed that the videos no longer stuttered and that once in game I was able to play for five minutes without a single hitch. I then decided to start back from mission number 1 and played thru the whole mission without a single hitch. During firefights the FPS would go down accordingly but it felt completely normal, not the way it's felt when the game just hitches and stutters like it has been. After three missions I experienced playing Black Ops the way it felt when I played any other COD game. In other words there are no gameplay issues whatsoever at least in the SP mode. I am going to try MP after I play thru the SP campaign again and see what happens. Who knows by then Treyarch might fix the problem?

BTW, I am using Nvidia drivers 260.99. I can't say that what I did is going to work for you but I caould not in good faith keep playing and enjoying my game without trying to help others with my own experience so far.

Like, what are you experiencing? FPS lag? Network lag? I'm sure I've seen a bit of network lag, here and there, but that was on international servers... I just left, and joined another, which fixed the problem. Offline runs perfect for me, in fact, I'd say it runs BETTER than MW2 lol, and I have 16x AA enabled. :/

I think I will still buy it and shout my problems later.

Well, seems that Call of Duty : Black Ops is considered the new "biggest entertainment launch ever", crushing Avatrar, Halo and everything else. Even beat Modern Warfare 2's record.

Well I say good for them because I felt like this game was a true proper successor to CoD 4. I remember I tried MW2 when they had a free weekend way earlier this year but it just didn't feel right to me, although there were some neat things implemented in the game such as the killstreak unlocks, emblems and titles.

Won't be saying anything about the lag because they're already working on a fix right now.

Hey, guys they are patching black ops PC on Monday i think...they are fixing the lagginz... most big PC games with 100.000 players first days will lag.. its nothing strange Another thing... Have any of you got the Theater mode to work on PC? My games doesn't seem to save. someone said something about enable it but i cant find that option... help ;)Fnepf

Last time the main COD forums were up, they said the theater mode was in beta and it would be offline for a while. It worked the first day for me though.

You can't, the FoV slider is broken. Only your weapon moves a bit.

There's been one instance in the campaign where I think they may have. Other than that, no, you're dealing with limited enemies.

It's really a very good campaign so far (haven't beaten it yet) - I already like it best out of all of the Call of Duties. The characters are far more likeable, and the narrative proceeds in a sensible manner - basically, it's not full of itself like MW2 was.

MP is way better now, still stutters a bit but its been reduced by at least 80%.

Am I the only one when after I place some basic filters gets less than 50 playable servers? Simple as not full, not empty, TDM, not HC, and not passworded.

It comes across as 129/990 servers when it clearly says 10k severs up at the top. Most servers are located in Europe with pings of over 150. Wtf is up with this?

It sounds like it was just a performance tweak, they didn't actually fix the problem (hence why it is still hitting a lot of people). I haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping it makes it playable. I've had the game since wednesday and barely managed an hour of multiplayer because of this.

That sucks man. :( I filtered hardcore just to test and found plenty of games, most in the US.

I got it when I changed some numbers on the cfg file. If you have been changing things around that might be the cause.

Actually, mine's running a little better too! My PC is still pretty crappy though, so I've only been playing zombies with a friend. Luckily I'm building a newPC anyways. I've needed one for a while... Always broke my heart when I saw newer games like Metro 2033 or Dragon Age on steam sale but I knew I didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of running either.
