Hey i asked this question a couble times around the forum and got various and very very different answers, so i'm asking again sorry, but i just need to know, is it corrct that I might be able to play crysis on medium quality(Estimation, i know knowone really knows) with the 1024x1028 res?
Here is my current pc,-
-Biostar(How good is this brand)Geforce, 8600 GT
-2 gig 667 Ram
- more than enough free space, 210 gig free.
- INTEL core 2 duo +4400
20x lg dvd rewriter.. okay someone told me that they saw an ad of the 8600 GT running crysis at medium with a low res.. And i was wondering if i can obtain a 1024x1028 res, with medium or even low settings, if i put in another 8600 GT and run it in SLI? Thanx, oh and if anyone knows how it will run with assasins creed too... Please i really need to know

If you mean 1024 by 768, that would be considered the border between Low Resolution and Medium, and would give a card like an 8600 GT a pretty good chance to run various games that really push hardware badly, with some decent FPS and not awful image quality, most likely including Crisis.
The only time to worry about the hard drive is when it has problems. For instance, always defrag it before installing a new game, and then again after the install is done. The total amount of free space doesn't affect performance, as long as it is sufficient.
The Optical drive is only important during the install (always use the "complete install"), unless the distributor likes Sony's terrible SecureROM copy protection, which is an atrocious POS that won't run from a great many optical writer drives.
The single instance where Cross-Fired or SLIed video cards makes a useful difference is at the very top rung in the performance ladder. At any other point, it is a worse option, dollar for dollar, than the next higher single card above the SLIed pair.
Assassins Creed doesn't exist yet, not in any publicly available form that I am aware of, so no comment there.
(Added in Edit after I got the rest of my night's sleep) P. S. Sorry about skipping the question about Biostar. That is a company that competes at a more mundane level than the high performance brands. They typically offer fewer optional features and functions, and no bundled games, but at a reduced cost. All of the Biostar hardware I've had has been decent stuff. I like what they are doing.
