god i hope today sale is good. only thing i picked up so far is kain and lynch 2. right now though it feels like im just collecting these games, because i still havent downloaded them or anything. i think trying to work on completing bioshock, braid, silent hill homecoming and the maw before i can download these newer games i purchased. Rahnyc4That's actually the wise thing to do. Buy games when they're cheap or dirt cheap as you're playing unfinished games along the way. I'm pretty much on the same boat as you except I have downloaded them but I have barely scratched the surface in terms of the newer games I just purchased.
I bought my Metro for $13.50 a few weeks ago. If I hadn't done that I'd probably buy it right now. As it is, there's absolutely nothing there that I find enticing.
This is the most I've bought during a steam sale. Ended up buying 3 indie packs, Kane and Lynch 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and AvP. On a side note I got EFLC for free from D2D.
[QUOTE="Remmib"]Man that is a hell of a deal for Metro 2033... starwarsjunkyit caught my eye too. have any of you guys played it? if so, whatre your thoughts???
It's a great game, one of the most atmospheric games I've played in a while if not the most. The visual side of things is also stunning. the gameplay is good, but I would say the thing that could be most improved (especially gunplay).
overall it's great and def worth the price.

Yeah I am checking out Metro 2033 as well. I am also probably getting KoToR and maybe Dirt 2.
So, I still have 7,69$ on my gift card. I don't know if I should get Civ IV for 5$ on Gamestop (btw, if you buy the game without the insurrance, can you do the backup yourself?), I could get AvP (I just heard it wasn't a very good game...) or Dirt 2 (my worry is that it's the same over and over again (not enough variety in races and challenges)). Which one would be the best pick (considering Civ IV you don't have to take the insurrance))?

i can tell you that KoTOR is really good. especially for the price. but thats not saying much coming from me :P[QUOTE="mrbrainheart"][QUOTE="starwarsjunky"] it caught my eye too. have any of you guys played it? if so, whatre your thoughts???starwarsjunky

whats didnt you like about the gameplay??Well whenever I fired a shot into an enemy I didn't have the feeling the two connected and the monsters aren't very bright foes nor very special. The humans are more satisfying to fight though except when using stealth, I found that to be rather tedious (that could just be me though :p). and don't get me wrong it's still good, it just isn't the best side of the game(, that easily goes the the immersion and atmosphere).

Civ IV is also available on D2D for $5. I enjoyed both Civ IV and Dirt 2, it really depends on if you want a strategy or racing game.

My worry about Dirt 2 is its replayability. I don't know if you get bored of it pretty quick or not... Civ 4, yes I've bought Medieval 2 for 5$ on Gamersgate, but I know Civ 4 as a lot of depth. I'm still hesitating =P

haha good to hear. For $2.50, why not!? Metro 2033 though I am not so sure about. Hell I am not sure my computer can handle it all that well lol. My 8800GT will probably be quite the bottleneck.
AvP and metro 2033 for just over £10. Why not :) Although I had a heart attack when I tried to purchase the first one and said my debit card was declined... thought id been robbed haha :D
It said my card had been declined when I tried to by the Kings Bounty pack but when I checked my e-mail, I had an e-mail confirming the payment. The games were in my library but they hadn't started downloading. Weird. As for today's sale; nothing for me. I already own KOTOR, Mafia 2, Metro 2033 and Dirt 2. I was thinking about AvP but I know I wouldn't like it so I'm not going to buy a game I have absolutely no desire to play. Here's hoping the Christmas sales are a bit better.AvP and metro 2033 for just over £10. Most of the games I already own and some not of interest for me. But I was able to capitalize on Alpha Protocol and Kane & Lynch 2, which I think are great games and hidden gems. I'm definitely going to be picking up Stars Wars Knights of the Old Republic when I get home tonight. I've been wanting to try this game out for a long time, despite not being a Star Wars fan - I love BioWare's work.
From GoGamer, I purchased Just Cause 2 (retail box). At Gamestop.com digital download section, I purchased Episodes from Liberty City. I plan to purchase Medieval 2 Total War at GamersGate just to replay it. I love that game. And at GoGamer, they have a Cyber Monday sale and I really wanted purchase Far Cry 2 along with STALKER Clear Sky, Gothic 3, and Napolean Total War, but Far Cry 2 ran out of stock. I've played it before and although I felt it was a mediocre game (360 version), I'm thinking it might play out better on the PC.
I can't wait for Christmas Sales. I think I'm going to put on the brakes and hold on to my cash for Christmas Sales. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed with the Steam sales, like Mafia 2 being price so high still, and Singularity never making an appearance. Although Mafia 2 is a pretty good game from what I've played with the demo, it should be much less than that for a Holiday sale. Oh well.
any chance on a tuesday encore? lol just curious...CoolSkAGuy
Would be nice, or even just a repeat of the sales, I missed out on Batman:(
