I hope it will do well if it deserves to do well, I hope it does poorly if it deserves to do poorly (I am assuming you are talking about commercial success here). I hope the game ends up being good however.

The reason, I am a bit bummed is because to be frank, I am tired of the EQ formula. GW2 from what I have seen tries to deviate a bit from it. The lack of innovation, wierd design choices and bland visuals are what makes me disappointed. But the biggest reason is that I was very excited for the game when it was announced, Star Wars is a good IP (or at least was. George Lucas is gonna remake the movies, this time in 3D), the Old Republic era is also a good setting in my opinion, I prefer it over the clone wars era. When I saw the game being announced, I was so hyped. Unfortunately, the the hype led to disappointment, and in turn may have influensed my opinion on the game yet today. If the free trial ends up being good, and worth the retail price I will buy it. Bioware is my second least favorite game company out there, only beaten by Zynga. Announcements for this game, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age and the fact that they gave me a broken CD key is the reason I am anti-bioware.

GW2 doesnt look to be perfect: the death penalty is too lenient, its nature may cause people with horrible internet connections to suffer. Truth is, the reason I dont bash GW2 is because Arenanet hasnt given me a lot to bash yet. Bioware has.

I really don't get that sentence. How does the announcements for this game make you anti-bioware? How does ME2 (an awesome game) make you anti-bioware? Dragon Age 2 was a disappointment, but the lead designer even admitted his mistakes... and one bad game means all the other great games are invalid? Broken CD is not bioware's fault.

I like successful companies as well, Blizzard, Valve and Nintendo are my 3 favorite companies, all of them highly successful. I dislike Zynga because of its dishonest nature (they even admitted to scamming more or less). I dislike Bioware because of the reasons mentioned.

The announcements or confirmations they made I meant, everytime they speak about TOR or show footage of it I always end up disappointed. Mass Effect 2 was terrible, it was repetitive, had horrible shooting and roleplaying elements, the story didnt interest me either. I didnt play Dragon Age 2, but I did play origins, and between the horrible/lazy encounter design, to blandness everywhere, to generic world, to awful level design, I just couldnt take it anymore after a while, shame because the combat was tactical. They gave me a broken CD Key, the CDs worked, but the CD key didnt work, so I couldnt install it.

Btw: What the he/she did to you was completely uncalled for, both in this thread and in the other where he misquoted you. But arguing with him/her will only make matters worse.

Yes true, I remember reading about it. They have actually gotten a lot better (I think a few people were fired). Of course it still has ads and they try to make you pay for credits, but obviously they need money to keep going. I like how they have revolutionized Facebook gaming.... Farmville and Cityville are as addictive as WoW. The only bad thing that still haunts them is server performance.

really WOW!!!!is almost like a new star wars movie!!!!!!!!!!!!.....and the best cinematic ever!!!!!!

Seen some the gameplay out there, I seen one live for about 40minutes. I tell you it's kinda like WoW, where you smash your hot keys in a certain order and move on. I know WoW didn't do it first, but it's the biggest MMO ever and more people are familiar with how it plays. Anyways, the thing that got be interested was how huge the world's are. Tatooine while you couldn't visit the entire planet you did get to see the major part of it, and man it's huge. I believe it's about size of North End, from what my eyes saw. Nothing hard proof how big it is, but it seemed pretty big. Dialog was great, all voiced over and multiple choices as we've grown use to in BioWare games. Apparently when you get a group together the dialog is rolled and who ever wins that roll speaks. Each player has multiple dialog choices. From what was said, you do get your own space craft. However I don't think there will be any space battles just yet. There's always a hope that there is. What I was hoping for was more KOTOR style of play (minus the pausing), however it may of been the player's fault. He was playing a Bounty Hunter and the spec he had he didn't know how to use. Another good thing that's might be interesting from what I saw was companions, and non-human companions at that. Level cap is 50, and no real way to level up by PVP, which sucks. After all what's the point of a war if you can't level up via killing other players? Death from what was seen is very interesting. Instead of force ghost walking or cloning, a medical bot comes in revives you then makes you invisible for a short period. This invisibility basically is like the ghosts in WoW but no more running to receive corpses. manyfist

As far as the game goes..Im ok with this being in the past..Its a fresh take..One thing bioware does do is stories..Even though dragon age 2 was a complete let down for me..Im sure ill be playing this for a long time to come..Up until cornipricus comes along..

this game looks dumb. seems like the force unleashed to me . it has so much hype ,but the game is actually goin to suck. bring on a true kotor 3 or a mmo that is somewhat creative cause this isnt

if you think there will be enough cutscenes and story to last for more than a month is just lol, the only way a mmorpg can survive its if the gameplay is amazing, which in the old republic is not

They're basically trying to superimpose SP rpg's (a genre they're steadily getting worse at representing) onto the mmo structure of WoW.

I think they will fail at producing a worthwhile game and I have doubts about it's longevity as well.
