That turned out to not be true and was all just a bad translation, he was actually quite ticked off about it and went on a rant as to how the Japnese media was alot better then the US media.

how essential is it that i play mpo im playin mgs3 right now and im hopin i can get through that by thursday but now if mpo is really that necessary i guess i wont make it to mgs4 at launchhnic7466

According to Kojima "MGS4 cant exist without MGSPO"... Could have just been a marketing stunt... Whose to say... You do learn quite abit in PO though its mainly connected to Big Boss, its hard to say if it'll resurface in MGS4...

MGS 3 is incredible, easily the best in the series IMO... I would definitely play it.

The big thing about that game is that in the end, Revolver Ocelot expresses interest that Big Boss join the Patriots... that's a really key story detail. Thus far in the series, there has been no motivation for Naked Snake to go bad as he obviously did, so what was the impetus behind the transformation? Absolute power corrupts absolutely, as has been said so often, so if Big Boss went over to the Patriots the power definitely could have gone to his head. There's a lot more to the story, obviously, but I think that if Big Boss did join the Patriots it explains a lot. It's something I hope MGS 4 discusses. So, what are your thoughts? Did Naked Snake join the Patriots, or not? No spoilers if you've played/seen anything from MGS4.

for short i do think he joined the patriots in order for the money to build outer haven. i think roy campbel should be able to shine some light on the subject since he knew him during PO.

Instead of playing through the entire MGS3 game, do you think I'll be ok if I just watch The Existence Disc you get with Subsistence, and just watch it instead?

I just don't know if I have time to complete MGS3 before 4 is released.

Finally, a reason for me to buy a PS3. I was going to but it much later but being the MGS fan that I am and since I bought a Playstation with MGS1, a PS2 with MGS2 I definitely must buy a PS3 with MGS4.MidnightMantis

No one go searching for The Patriots! I just completed MGS2, and being confused to who The Patriots are, and especially the conversation between Otacon and Snake after the end credits, I decided to try and find out what it all meant. Silly me, I read down too far. Ah well, it's not a huge spoiler, just something I'd of rather found out through the game.

Can anyone enlighten me on this whole MGO affaire? i've always believed that MGO comes as a Starter Pack with MGS4, thats the full game and to get more content its all thru DLC... BUT now i've learn that in novemeber Konami are going to release a game on PS3 called METAL GEAR ONLINE, which it seems will be the "full version"...

Now, i'm pretty much sure MGO that comes with MGS4 isnt just a demo, so my guess is that the November release will be a single build of MGO Starter Pack, along with all the DLC it would have gotten by then... But i have no info to confirm this... You guys got an opinion on this?

I know that, but whats confusing me is the fact Konami are releasing a MGO stand-alone in november.

I know that, but whats confusing me is the fact Konami are releasing a MGO stand-alone in november.

It's just like what Valve did with Counter Striker (I think), where it originally came with Half Life, but they then later released it as a stand alone game.

Dang, no stuck luck; they have the game but dont want to break the release date due to Konami's warning, so it seems the only way you can get your hands on a copy early is if you've ordered it by post and its already came...

It's just like what Valve did with Counter Striker (I think), where it originally came with Half Life, but they then later released it as a stand alone game.

Just completed MGS3 (well I say completed, I just watched the existence disc movie), and I really feel we should know the events of Snake killing Big Boss, It's one of the biggest moments, surely we should be able to see what exactly went on. Maybe an MGS5 prequel? Or perhaps an MGS4 flashback? Hope so.CrytekSamuel

yeh i definitely think MG1 and 2 should be remade 4 the PS3 or somethin...it wud be gr8 as i;ve never played them on the PS3 and mebbe we could even play as Gray Fox before he gets kidnapped/found out

it would be hard to make a MG1 and 2 remake, ive only just got MG2 but i completed MG1 and it is the most confusing game ever (not story wise) but you are giving no hints at all, not like, "snake maybe you should try using the lift" its just completely on your own and also, from what I've been told, mg2 is basically the same as MGS which is basically the same as MGS2.. but who knows what Kojima will come up with next.
