[QUOTE="StealthMonkey4"][QUOTE="samssf"] False. Many people have fixed this problem by removing and reinserting the CMOS battery. And to everyone who doesn't already know: It's NOT a problem with PSN.tirralirra
Well, I stand corrected but I don't see why anyone would void their warranty and take apart their entire PS3 as opposed to just waiting a bit for Sony to clear things up.
Those warranty stickers can be taken off and put back on without anybody noticing. I did to a 360 which is now 2-tone black and white! So I should rely on the fact that the warranty sticker will stick back on and look normal because I'm too impatient to wait a bit for the official word from Sony..?
[QUOTE="vincent380"]they fixed it? for real?LiLEviL_187i just tried and it didnt work people are full of it today
Sucks for you because mine works now.
[QUOTE="tdogg_1990"]Hey from New York City here. They just showed this ps3 error thing on the news. They said that Sony promises it will be fixed in the next 24 hours no matter what happens after midnight. Also it is a clock bug.moonevil200You know what makes me really upset? I can deal with the wait... 24 hours? no problem, I do hope it is 24 hours from the moment it started and not from the moment they spoke to a news reporter. What I CANNOT understand is the fact that sony did not explain anything to us. Even in the US playstation homepage, until last time I checked it, there was no comment on the problem, which is ridiculous. People are doing crazy things on their PS3 because they thing they themselves must have done something to it, or maybe was a game. Sony cannot keep its customers in the dark during moments like this.
You hit the nail right on the head. The issue that many of us have is not just that our PS3's aren't working properly for one day. It is the simple principle that the manufacturer of our product is not forthcoming about what exactly the issue is, why it happened, and what they're doing to fix it it. All I've seen from Sony is a few very vague, sporadic and smug statements. In contrast, when Xbox Live suffered a massaive outage during Christmas a few years back, their team apologized immediately, gave reasonable updates and when everything was up and running again they showed their graditude by giving away a free game. This situation from Sony is more severe, and it seems to me that they don't think that this is a big deal. First of all, they insisted it was a PSN error and not a hardware coding error. They finally concede (nearly 20 houts later!) that it's a harware clock error that should fix itself. Fine. What's not fine is Sony's disaffected if not cocky attitude about the whole thing. I don't think Sony realizes that those of us who did not have our PS3's connected to the internet at the time and were unable to play our OFFLINE games will have a bad taste in our mouths for a long, long time. I don't even think Sony is going to offer an apology or a free game or anything that their competitors did during an outage. Mark my words, their response will be "Chill, everything is cool now. Go watch the Tester is Home and download a free t-shirt!"

Yeah Sony is always smug like that. One reason I delayed buying a PS3 until MGS4 was released. Please Log In to post.
