[QUOTE="LeftCatcher"][QUOTE="yentlequible"]So I have heard that it is mainly the fat ps3's that have been affected by this right? What percentage of them actually were messed up? I have a fat 80gb and it is working just fine...yentlequibledo you have backward compadability? i think it's my model and before that had issues w/ the RTC i have a cechk01 there are 2 more phatties after mine, and mine don't work :( funny, it's listed as not being backward compadable, but i can play and save ps1&2 games no trophies for them though (never) No I don't have the BC... In fact, I think my 80gb is a newer model version. I bought it almost brand new around august then you should be good (have the new RTC) if not it doesn't matter if it's on or off, it still counts. it's a BIOS clock not the OS clock. so it w/ either work, or you in w/ me dude, good luck *crosses fingers* :)
So does anyone know if the lost trophies will be recovered? I haven't got on during this whole fiasco so I haven't lost any but I was just curious.
Heres the main thing on my mind: A Clock error, trophies, or anything else network related, should NEVER effect whether I can play a game in my own home on a machine I own. Period. Its unnacceptable. Trophy integration teams? I would fire you people, instantly. You sucked from the get go and are terrible at your jobs, and now, even though I dont even LOOK AT OR CARE ABOUT TROPHIES, you've possibly ruined my gamesaves? And now my DLC content thinks its a demo...I cant play half the games I own whether HDD based OR disc based. People at R&D and product integration at Sony have made a terrible misstep. I cannot use something I payed for, because of a trophy issue or a clock issue? There is no excuse or idea you can conjure that will justify why these ideas are in any way related. The entire planet easily jumped over the y2k issue. A decade ago. Yet you geniuses somehow recreate that with ps3? And any trophy sync idea anyone speaks of is MOOT. There is absolutely no reason any trophie or clock issue should preventing me from spinning a disc around so I can play it. My god, it simply boggles the mind how some of these people even got a job. Anywhere, let alone at sony. Best of luck to everyone. Especially the afforementioned offenders. Their really going to need it. trupro100% agree with this. what the heck happens in 20-30 years when ps8 is popular? will i not be able to use my ps3 at all because the servers are down. just like he said, there is no reason why i shouldnt be able to put darksiders in and play it right now.
pretty sure the battery is charged to last for weeks without a power source, like most are ... thats why people have been disassembling and removing the battery, otherwise it wont die (and thus reset the clock) in a timely fashion.Well I guess it can't hurt flipping the switch off on the back of the PS3. I even disconnected the PS3 power plug for extra safety measures. If the CMOS battery doesn't recieve any power than it should reset. Like I said before, we all know how annoying the PS2 was when it asked us to set the date and time, whenever we turned it off on the back for an extened period of time.

I turned my PS3 off about an hour before this **** happened and I haven't turned it back on since, so I hope not. They were all there when I logged into the official PlayStation site, so it looks like I'm OK.
[QUOTE="gioiscool2"]None of the stores in my area have ps3s either, try craigslist though they usually go for cheap with extra stuff.Ok so as we all know, the PSN had a major break down last night, but what is really going on with Sony? Did you guys know that Ice broke through the ceiling of an atrium at the Sony Building in New York city? also the shortage of PS3?! shortage of PS3, you may ask? Well I live in Florida and my brother's birthday is Today and we are looking for new PS3's like crazy all around, and nothing can be found, We checked the Target store and the internet and nothing, Best buy stores (more than 4) and the internet and nothing, toys r us, kmart, ebgames, game stop. website and stores alike are sold out, even AMAZON!. Now something is really going on here, and IMO it's not just a glitch. What do you guys think? is all this a coincidence? or you think there might be something around there?

Income tax returns man. Everyone whose ever wanted a PS3 is getting their tax returns back and buying them faster than Sony can probably produce and ship them.

Why do people keep saying that PSN is down? It is not down, it just that the bug is not allowing you to enter onto PSN. If it was down then PS3 Slim and PSP owners wouldn't have been able to get onto it too.

Whos going to take their console apart in 1 hour if it doesnt get fixed? Show some hands. It's a problem with the internal clock or some other problem, nothing taking apart the system will help. Just relax and wait for the official word from Sony. It's amazing how people can't go one day without their PS3, just chill and wait.

Oh PS3, my one and only love. I neglected you for all these years. Your beautiful sound, crisp clear picture, beautiful blu ray movies. You have left me now. I wish it didn't have to end this way, I never really realized how much I loved you until this moment as I pour my emotions onto gamespot. I miss you, I want you back, and I hope you'll forgive me for all those times I played xbox over you, she means nothing to me. Don't even bring wii up, I'm not into honky consoles any more. I need your chocolate.
Love your "lovebird"
PS - I hope one day we can once again play demon souls when we meet in heaven.
Was Sony using a Public Time Server?....they would not be the first....Were they asked to stop?....Did they get hacked by the individual with this Time Server?....Has happened before, not with Sony though....pigmakTHERE WAS NO HACK, some moron chip designer came to work high one day and messed up the RTC chip in the making, they've always been this way. sorry, dont mean to be rude but, i've been here for 23 hours now :p

Uh, no. He's referring to the GMT time, which will hit midnight at that moment. And hopefully, the problem will then resolve itself.Hey from New York City here. They just showed this ps3 error thing on the news. They said that Sony promises it will be fixed in the next 24 hours no matter what happens after midnight. Also it is a clock bug.tdogg_1990You know what makes me really upset? I can deal with the wait... 24 hours? no problem, I do hope it is 24 hours from the moment it started and not from the moment they spoke to a news reporter. What I CANNOT understand is the fact that sony did not explain anything to us. Even in the US playstation homepage, until last time I checked it, there was no comment on the problem, which is ridiculous. People are doing crazy things on their PS3 because they thing they themselves must have done something to it, or maybe was a game. Sony cannot keep its customers in the dark during moments like this.
