Wow why don't we get any replies after a couple days? So many people on this board are lazy and don't want to help other people.gollum007
The problem is some don't even look at the sticky threads or don't want to, right now there is a thread like this and is getting replays.

I'm trying to help others, but I need help as well I've had only one person even kinda address my question, and nobody has addressed my newest one.
So I guess this is the place to ask...
I`m interesting in Valkirie profile (actually also in ps2, which I understand is a action RPG, right? )Â
So, anyway, I do not like strategies games and I see that is part of the gameplay, but the part of RPG (btw I can not figured if it is tunr-based or real time.) and thrid person shooters sound great. So I was wondering how big of a part is the startegie part. Would a person that have never play from more than 2 hours a strategie game enjoy this game?
Thx.
Enjoy gaming..
i am getting on december...
GTA IV
Fallout 3
oblivion(elder scrolls)
little big planet
and i dont know if cod 5, nfs undercover or tomb raider underworld
what do ya think guys?
FrancoFerraro
Cool..Â
You'll have loads of fun with Oblivion. GTA IV is a bit overrated, in my opinion, but still a good game. Can't go wrong with LBP either. As far as those other three games goes, I'd go for Need For Speed personally.. I'm hearing alot about how COD 5 is basically the same as COD4.

Yeah, people are just creating their own threads instead of using this one.
This thread isn't accomplishing what the title suggests for several reasons:
-Way too many titles listed. Just because GS gave it a nice score doesn't mean it warrants a honorable mention. I thought this thread is suppose to recommend A game not HALF of the PS3's library (exaggeration).
-Too many cross console titles. Recommended titles should be games that deliver a unique gaming experience solely for the PS3. Most are best on PC anyways.
-Too many sports and FPS games. They're a dime a dozen, one good title is enough.
My recommendations:
Little Big Planet*
Valkyria Chronicles*
Resistance 2
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Folklore
Me being a hypocrite:
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed*
Grand Theft Auto IV*
Soul Calibur IV
NHL 09
Titles to *think* about:
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm
Armored Core For Answer
Heavenly Sword
Thanks a lot!
I was looking and Valkyria Chronicles and I'm a major fan of Disgaea...I'll check out Oblivion, because I'm loving Fallout
defficult decision here, I can only pick 4 out of these games:
resistance 2 (big fps fan..and this looks like an amazing game!)
dead space ( I liked re4..so I know I'll like this..butI heard it's only 15 hours long)
burnout paradise ( I know it's an old game..but I love racing games. I played the demo and it was great...and since I still dont have a ps3 racing game I wonna get it...also It's cheaper then the rest)
fallout 3 (looks great...I love fps games and loved oblivion so it seems like a good decision)
call of duty world at war (I skipped cod 4 to buy battlefield bad company so the old gameplay wont bother me...again, I'm a big fps fan)
saints row 2 (I also like sandbox games..big gta fan..I already finished gta4 and dont really feel like replaying it any time soon, this game looks like a good game to play instead of gta)
really defficult decision..so which ones do u recommend me to get??
-thanks :)
Michelle, I think you should get Dead Space, Fallout 3, Burnout/Saints Row and WAW/R2. This way you have a wide variety of games.
Which 2 of these games should I get before xmas?
LBP - Might get on Saturday if less than £40, might even get it if it is £40. Love the originality and looks so fun.
Mirrors Edge - Again, love the originality, got the demo and played it 6 or 7 times. Addicted but is it worth getting over the others?
COD:WAW - Not too bothered about this game, can wait till xmas unless someone can persuade me otherwise. COD4 I loved the online but I got bored of it, if this is as similar as it said in the review, surely I'll get bored quickly?
Resistance 2 - Major exclusive and getting good reviews, but I'm looking more for innovative games. Still a maybe though if you say it's great.
Any other games that have come out recently/yet to come out feel free to add. Really in a quandry here!

personaly I didnt like the mirrors edge demo...but thats just my opinion
I'd probably get resistance 2 and little big planet if I was you, also got better reviews then mirrors edge

Absolutely LBP and Mirror's Edge for you then. If originality is where it's at, then those 2 are it especially since COD4 is essentially = to CODWAW.
ok i want some actions adventures or plateformers games (but not 3 hours long those that i can play a lot an stil be interesting) so what are the best?membership1
Action/adventure - MGS4, kinda short after you beat it a couple times because you skip the cutscenes but alot of replay value. Uncharted, amazing graphics if that's your thing and a great game at that. Ratchet and Clank, don't listen to the Gamespot score, it's stupid :P This game is a great action game.
Platformers - LBP, goooood ;)

Uncharted
[QUOTE="HybridPhoenix"]Completely new to PS3, what are the best RPG's?Gxgear
Valkyria Chronicles (must have IMO)
Eternal Sonata
Disgaea 3
Oblivion
maybe you could answer this for me...

 sorry for quoting myself...
Also i agree with Obliviona and eternal sonata. Have not try Disgaea (is that action RPG? *goes to check* )

Valkyrie Profile is turn based. You get a turn to do all the free actions that you want like moving around and attacking. Then it's the computer's turn. As for Disgaea it's more of a strategy RPG than action but it's a good game to an RPGer either way.
just to make sure I get it
oh... ok. so is like eternal sonata in that... you have turn to attack, but you actually attack: push button to walk, diffrence attacks.. and such, no just put a command and the character move (you know like clas.sic turn-based)
and what is the element of strategie on valkerie? a friend told me is like civilization type that you command forces around and such (or one of those game thing) ..
Thx so much for your reply

No problem lol.
Eternal Sonata is the first way you mention. You get a turn (dealing with just one character) to move with your analog to a spot of light or dark, and then press the command to do the attack. It's not so much classic turn-based. There's a demo on the Playstation Store if you really want to check it out.
With Valkyrie Profile there is a sort of strategy to the game. You get a turn (dealing with all your characters) to choose one of your characters by pressing left or right and moving them to a spot. It's strategy in the way that you should put like a heavy swordsman to tank attacks in front of the monster, have a wizard stay far and blast him with attacks, and perhaps like a light swordsman sneak behind and attack the monster's weak spots.
oh yea.. I have eternal Sonata.. great freaking game :P I was trying to compare it with VP to see if they were about the same.
Anyway, that explained it, thx :) I think is too much strategie-board like for what I can here... but I think that I would at least rent it. I like RPG and this one has had so much praise that well...Â
:D thx... enjoy gaming
I torn between getting Fallout 3 or Little Big Planet. Which one do you guys recommend?slip_killerpretty tough decision, i am getting both but really fallout3 looks funner. really i dont know
I just got a PS3 a few days ago and love it so far (have only played Star Wars: TFU which I borrowed from a friend so far). I plan on picking up LBP, MGS4, and R&CF:TOD. Are there any other big recommendations (disc based games and downloadable games) right now? I am not a big fan of shooters, but other than that am pretty open to almost any genre.Phantom5800I hate to quote myself, but any recommendations?

Never forget Uncharted, it's kind of short so you may want to rent it. Even though it is a shooter Bioshock is an amazing game, I highly recommend it.
 P.S. Go Hawks!
ok , what are the longest (but good and no rpg)and with better replay value games for ps3?membership1
MGS4 is short but you'll want to keep playing for quicker/sneakier runs so it has great replay value.

WEll it does have trophies so there a reason to replay. If you like survival horror dead space and Siren(thats downloadable) are great picks. A good actiong jrpg is folklore and a good jSRPG is valkyria chronoicals. Its not run of the mill srpg check the ign video review for answers. Also dmc4 and NGS are both good action games.
