He didnt take his kid to a bar, lets try to compare apples to apples. He is playing a game online. People get into the game and like to celebrate, I get that. But they DONT have to use the N word and other abusive language. You dont see anything wrong with kids using that language? You think the right way to resolve the issue is to say "MUTE the game" or dont play at all if you cant take it?
This guy bought the game for his kid, but any kid can go and buy the game or have someone else buy the game for him. Then most parents work until 5pm, and there kid gets home from school at 3, so the parents cant always be around to monitor what the kids are doing. So again, that isnt the problem, the problem is kids thinking its ok to use that type of language.

and it's true!!
NOOOO is it really that bad cause you know im black and all i stoped playing diablo because of that crap. In resistance it wasnt bad at all it might of come up every now and again. But is the racial slurs bad in that game because i was about to go get the game.
DAM i hate racism but wat r u gonna do
Edit: I gonna get the game anyway cause to me its just another word. Untill it gets to the point where its like i want to kill N* then thats where i stop. but untill then i can live with it
I mute the mic when I play online games, I am sick to death of stupid kids cussing at me and other people. It started with counterstrike and now it's everywhere. Kids in clans think they are the sh*t, no one can touch them and they can say whatever they want. That's the way it is, I've been there, and moved on thank god. As bad as the language can get, it's really on par with most pg-13 or R movies these days, he's gonna get it from somewhere.
people talk in warhawk? LOL
anyways if u really wana get technical bout it the game is rated TEEN so ur child shouldnt be playen unless he is of age ...
so if teen = 13+ im sure he hears alot worse stuff in the outside world ( school, friends etc. )
now if he is under that age limit .. should he be playing in the first place?
yeah no matter what the rating is, as long as there is online you'll get alot of people swearing. i'm sure there is an option to mute all mic convos. i know there is for resistance but not too sure with warhawk
it is unfair to make a broad generalization like that, so next time just have him play on a different server.

I witnessed him playing warhawk with the local option of servers in the UK ,that was fine but then he connected with global servers and found many American matches so he joined one,now take this how you will American players but i had to stop him playing because the foul and racist language brought to this game seems to be thanks to the USA players,it was F this and f that along with other nasty racist N words,i dont understand why you guys cant open your mouthes without bad language pouring out. And yes before you ask,it was only the americans swearing,i know most of you guys are not like this but the indeed are giving the good folks a bad name. Please stop swearing where you know kids could be playing.unimpendium115
Why don't you just turn off voice chat rather than not letting your kid play it? If warhawk is a problem then never let your kid play halo 2 because not only is their swearing and racism from people but their are tons of little kids who play that swear and scream as well.

Will everyone on this board please take time to actually read the original posters comments He is clearly indicating it was in this oneinstance and that he know most of you guys are not like this. Instead you get people on this board saying he is making a generalisation about who swears(which is very, very bad apparantly) and that offends you. Grow up and grow a back bone, you say how yeah I don't care if I hear swearing or the kid is too young to play the game, yet you wet your pants when someone remotely offends you saying that in his experience, your nationality swears alot when playing Warhawk. By the way why is the "N" word still considered offensive it's in most "hip-hop" records and Blacks call it to each other assome sortof brotherly love?

You actually made sense up until the last part of your paragraph ( that is one the most ignorant things I seen on here )
IMHO. I have to agree with them in that there is no need to express the emotions experienced during game play through vulgarity to essentially perfect strangers. Granted that the vocabulary is in our "every-day speech" however, is it necessary or even appropriate? We all know it's not the most polite way to speak to others. Really, if you wouldn't say it in front of your grandmother, you probably shouldn't be using it in an open server speak. If you think that you need to express yourself thusly, go to closed game with like minded people please. Or at least warn your fellow mates that hey "I come out with fists flying and drop as many expletive as my Harrier drops suspects." As to those who say that they are "proud of their profanity", ask yourself if those you respect would be proud of you for using. I think that we all can agree that racist remarks are "bannable offences" in almost every situation.
BTW- this thread could have used a poll to see who supports open profanity/wishes there were less.
Peace in the Middle East ^_^v

I second that..that was a very ignorant thing to say (or type)...kinda reminds me of Bush when he gives one of his stutteringspeeches...he always says something that makes himself look dumb.In all honesty we all know good and well that the foul language and racisim isnt going anywhere wether its coming from the internet or just going about your day
Not to say i dont agree with you for trying to get your son away from that but sooner or later your son will incounter some kind of foul language or some sort of racism sooner or later not say it will happen to him but he will hear it its something that is part of our world and it isnt going away
I dont know why some of you guys are acting like racism isnt alive and well and we dont have have bad mouths as americans i have heard it a good percent of the time on Warhawk and im starting to hear it on Tekken Online also its just sad IMO im sure its a free country you can say what you wanna say but sometimes its just so uneccesary

Dude, to be honest it's not a problem at all. I haven't heard a single N-bomb on PSN. This guy was just really unlucky to have entered a game like that.
One thing that would help us is if the name of the person speaking came up on screen like it does in every other online game out there. Some guy on foot can say whatever he wants and nobody can see that he's the one speaking unless they happen to be facing him and somewhat close to him.
also I think that your just overprotective!!
...deal with it!
if hes like 7...then...ina year or 2 hell be swearing just as much!!
...I mean...kids were swearing (in my class) when I was 7...
besides...online=swearing!!
it's natural!
and...why is this topic still alive?!??!?!?!?
how about you just take the head set away like i will be doing when i get the game for my 9 year old son. simple as that.GARRYTH
ya!!
...but if your son is 10+...then..let him sware and get swared at all he wants!!
besides he learns swares at school!
would you like a broom with that sweeping statement? ha ha, seriously though, that's what you get for buying your son a PS3, with an Xbox 360 you get parental controls so you can limit what games your son plays, and you can DISABLE VOICE CHAT, looks like you chose the wrong console ;)rich185
Not to mention, when he gets the RRoD, he can't chat with anybody. Thus protecting him completely from these foul words.
I haven't heard the best of things concerning the competitions politeness while voice chatting in-game, though.

god damn it!!
why is everyone so overprotective??!?!?!?

seriously, the uk servers don't have this problem..... wow, i need to start playing matches from across the pond.
most games have one or two that are just plain asses. their parents didn't teach them the right things, or they are just asses. i'm sorry you child had learn this online gaming fact first hand, but sadly, muting is the only protection from it.
